If we're going to loan Pritchard out for another season, we might as well sell him. With the system we play the alternative to Dier would also need to be able to drop in to form a back 3. Signing this type of player would negate the need to sign another centre back and allow CCV to permanently replace Floppio in the 1st team squad.
An alternative to Dembele also needs to have similar attributes including being a beast as Dembele is sorely missed when he's injured. The only player of his type that we've been consistently linked with is Witsel, but do we really want to be spending £20m + on a back up?
An essential signing is an alternative to Kane who can both lead the line or play as a wide forward. The dream signing as mentioned by others would be Lacazette but I'd happily settle for Batushayi.
Bringing 3 players in and getting rid of Floppio, Carroll/Mason and Chadli would leave us with a much stronger squad, especially when N'Jie and Son have both had a full pre-season with us.
My squad would be:
Lloris, Vorm, McGee
Walker, Trippier
Rose, Davies
Vertonghen, Wimmer
Alderweireld, CCV
Dier, new signing
Dembele, new signing, Bentaleb,
Alli, Carroll or Mason
Eriksen, Lamela, Son, N'Jie
Kane, Lacazette/Batushayi
Loan out:
Onomah and Pritchard
The problem with finding a Dembele back-up who has similar attributes is that I'm not sure there is another player like him at the moment. I think that it would be better if we find a deep-lying playmaker (who is still good defensively) than someone who's exactly like Dembele. Also, I think that we're going to have to decide if we want another DM or a deep-lying playmaker as I don't see us signing both.
