I don't usually indulge in the transfer window in/out nonsense, not least because what we'd like to see happen and what will happen are usually light years apart.

But just for shits and giggles, I would be overjoyed with a summer of:

Out:

Kaboul
Adebayor
Capoue
Lennon
Friedal (just as a registered player - can still work at the club in another capacity - I love Brad and think he's got a lot to offer)
Khumalo (seriously, how are we paying this guy wages every week)
Paulinho
Chiriches (not a priority, would be happy to keep him for cover if needed)

In:

Cabaye (perfect for us, but would probably get snapped up by Arsenal were he to become available)
Reid (good solid cover, free)
Ings (versatile, young, English, talented - doubt we'd get him, expect him to go to Liverpool)
Konoplyanka (doubt it, expect him to get a better offer)

Bring home Tom Carroll.

I'd also like us to make a decision on Ceballos - he looked good (again) in pre-season and I hoped he would play some part in the first team, but yet again he hasn't, for whatever reason.

Suffice to say in my ideal world the above would happen, probably slightly reduce our wage bill, and not cost any significant money beyond some signing on fees and the fee for Cabaye which would surely be covered by the various outgoings. I'm happy with CM and Mason and Bentaleb, but I think Cabaye would be a revelation for us, he is absolutely top quality and fits the PL perfectly, he's a hard bastard who can open teams up with quality passing and is a free-kick expert to cover Eriksen. He would also look super sexy in our shirt.

Something like:

Lloris (Vorm)

Walker (Yedlin) Dier (Fazio) Vertonghen (Reid) Rose (Davies)

Cabaye (Mason, Carroll) Bentaleb (Stambouli)

Lamela (Townsend) Eriksen (Dembele) Konoplyanka (Chadli)

Kane (Ings, Soldado)

24 man squad with McGee, Ball, Velk, Winks, Onomah, Ceballos all waiting in the wings.

Not sure how that all goes with the homegrown stuff but I'm assuming we'd have enough given all the youth players in the first team?

Come on Danny Boy, make a brother happy.

This summer is all about streamlining the squad and continuing to back Poch with the players that suit his system, so this is what I would like to see (ins would probably be easier than the outs)

GK Lloris, Vorm (McGee)
DL Rose, Davies (Ogilvie)
DC Vertonghen, Moreno (Veljkovic)
DC Fazio, Dier (Ball)
DR Walker, Yedlin (Fredericks)
DM Bentaleb, Stambouli (Winks)
MC Mason, Carroll (Alli)
AM Eriksen, Pritchard (Onomah)
AML Chadli, Rodriguez (Oduwa)
AMR Lamela, Townsend (Sonupe)
FC Kane, Ings (Coulthirst)

In - Moreno, Rodriguez, Ings
Out - Friedel, Kaboul, Chiriches, Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele, Holtby, Lennon, Soldado, Adebayor

Very little spend and lots of money recouped. Might leave us short in one or two areas but overall I think that would give us more balance and allow us to give the youngsters a real chance.

We would also have a nice transfer fund if any special players became available.

I'll caveat this by saying it wholly depends on what happens for the rest of the season, and if people do improve in the second half of the season then that could change a lot.

Of our current first team squad, the below are the ones I would be happy to see stay for next season:

GK: lloris, Vorm
RB: Walker, Yedlin
LB: Davies or Rose (not both, and I'd probably stick with Davies as the player with the greater potential)
CB: Vertonghen, Dier, Fazio
CM: Mason, Bentaleb, Stambouli
AM: Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Dembele
ST: Kane

The ones in bold I think still need to prove themselves worthy of a long term place in the squad (obviously Yedlin hasn't had the chance to do this yet and will probably get the benefit of the doubt whatever happens this season).

That means that for me we need at least:

A left back
A centre back
A deeper lying midfielder (personally I think it needs to be Mason or Bentaleb rather than both)
At least two attacking midfielders/wide forwards
At least one striker

That gives us a squad of 22, and I think we've got enough yoof to provide cover other than that (Carroll, Velkjovic, Pritchard, Alli, etc).

That means getting rid of:

Rose, Kaboul, Chiriches, Paulinho, Capoue, Holtby, Townsend, Lennon, Adebayor, Soldado.

The other caveat is that this would be yet another massive upheavel, so we'd have to consider whether it's worth taking that risk, but hopefully with Mitchell in charge of scouting we'll at least identify some more suitable targets this time.

The final caveat is that I doubt we'll see anywhere near this much movement in or out, but the above is just what I'd do in an ideal world.

Unless anyone amazing becomes available, I would like us to just play it cool, pick up a couple of under the radar players who can contribute, and shift out some dead wood. It's more important to me that we hold onto what we have.

Let's consolidate what we have and build a team carefully.

We have already had the magnificent seven and now we have the hateful eight.

Adebayor,Soldado,Paulinho,Kaboul,Lennon,Capoue,Holtby and Chiriches.

Our biggest task in the summer is to get rid of them for good,at the earliest possible time.

It could be just me but nothing I've seen of Carroll convinces me that he's gonna take us to where we want to be, not physically imposing, tricky or quick enough for cm and looks like a kid to me still. This new fella Ali does look like he's got all those attributes and I'm excited by him.

It's a window we can afford to be picky in.

Clear out the rest of the players who don't seem to be in Poch's plans: Kaboul, Capoue, Adebayor. Those are the definites.

Maybe Chiriches and Paulinho. Depends on their attitudes and Poch's thinking. I'm not fussed about Paulinho but I'd rather see Chiriches replaced than not.

Soldado is the only other potential out. If we can't make some money back (at least £8m) then I'd keep him.

As regards ins...anybody's guess. Striker/forward for sure. Maybe a right back. Maybe a centre back. A top quality cm would be good but no longer essential.

Do you know why evolution created the middle finger? No... So I could use it.

WOW!! Amazing, the same old clichéd response when somebody tells the truth. It is like you are not allowed to say it as demanded by the majority who wear those f-ing rose coloured glasses that leave them more blinkered than the Liverpool fans.

In my defence of my claim, I refer to every match thread this season, most of which the majority of fans are grateful of the points, but my god was that shit.

We struggled to beat Sheff UTD FFS!! in a cup semi-final :banghead:

Seriously, nothing pisses me off more, than fans that bury their head in the sand and claim everything is f-ing rosy because of where we are in the league, we are winning. I know someone else who thinks like that, his name is Levy and now we have a team full of players who can't pass a ball properly, have brains about as useful as putting your dick in a blender and shit bricks when little children give it some.

http://livefootballvideo.com/fullmatch. There you go, knock yourself out...

PS, I think Pooch is good manager and not his fault he has a squad full of shit to deal with, but I hate 4-2-3-1 with a fooking passion.
Bradford beat Chelsea.

This whole "we struggled to beat Sheffield United" doesn't work.

Tbh the names of the ins don't really matter. It seems like we know what we are doing for the first time in a while.

Most important thing for me is that we strike early and give Poch the chance to work with the players all summer.
I think that'll be the case. Love having Mitchell on board, he'll be decisive and certain about the options he comes up with and 'dini can then get to work in earnest.

Think Shinehead et al are all pulling in the same direction. Feels good.

We really could go back & forth on this but I ain't wasting my time. You're probably one of those fans that would be ecstatic for us to play well yet lose ....so you can say "but we played well!". Well...fuck that shit. At this point I'd take the crap play (and no, I'm not claiming for one minute we're playing well btw!) and points - after all isn't it the hallmark of a great side i.e. don't play well but still know how to win? I think you're being hyper critical - we have a very young squad determined to play for the fans and the manager - those not willing to do so are being shown the door. I'm not a fan who buries my head in the sand - I hate poor performance, bad results etc as much as the next fan but I think its fair to say that if you don't see progress ...you're the fan who's head is buried in the sand! I can't ask you to be patient or to view our football, players and squad differently ...but I can ask that you judge the players on RESULTS afterall, the table does not lie ...does it?

Btw - your claim is defensible quite simply because we all react in the post match threads...why? because we're passionate, we expect the best, want the best and we are desperate to succeed but remember this - we all do not react the same or feel the same. I respect you're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine...its a pity yours is "glass half empty" whilst mine is "glass half full" ...all the same I'm backing this team to do some more good things this year under Poch as I'm sure you are. Enjoy the rest of the season mate ..let's send those gooners packing this weekend!

Ad Dee Bye Your.

Please, please, please get this utter clown out of our football club.

Same goes for Kaboul.

The sooner he's gone, the sooner we replace and the sooner we have a stronger team.

I think he has had some really good games for us previously, and at times has been brilliant.
But as football moves so quickly, and as do flavour of the months, his future at this club is just not tenable.

He has proved to be, let's be honest, mostly dog shit over his last few times he's played.

Juju? Fuck off. That doesn't impede your ability to run around and at least look like you're trying.

You don't get "lucky" players in football. So saying things aren't happening because of "luck/"juju" is ridiculous. You make your chances by being a bloody winner. Being where it matters, making that extra run, going that extra mile etc.

To me, he looks shot. His technique looks poor, his pace has diminished, his control is sometimes abysmal, his shots have the velocity of a fart.

Some of that may be down to age, and just his physical make up, but I'm sorry, if you're a professional footballer, you're attitude should not be anything other than fucking perfect, because you've probably been fortunate to land pretty much the most lucrative and enjoyable profession you could possibly have.

If you're a professional footballer and you look like you can't be arsed, you're a **** and you don't know you're born.

Ungrateful and utterly worthless attitude if that is the case.

We can't say for sure what the fuck is going on with the bloke, but I'm sorry, all the speculation, ITK, team selections, rumours, Twitter jibes, and his on the pitch performances translate to me as someone that is basically a tosser.

Yes he's been good in the past. Do you think he'll honestly play two or three great games in a row for us ever again?? NOPE.

If someone is crazy enough to buy him and his juju baggage, then bite their hand off.

He just comes across as an arse to me more so than any other Spurs player of recent memory.

Took the words right out of my mouth! :)

To be fair, other teams rely on their best players to pull them out of trouble when they are struggling. Look at Aguero and City.
