Whether people are in favour of it or not, the 5 subs next year could really play into our hands. Being able to switch out both wing backs on 60/70 minutes to refresh them and still having 3 subs left is a huge plus.

This leads on to what others have been saying, we need quality on the bench and we shouldn’t look at it from a “can’t buy player x as that means player y might not start” point of view. Having a quality squad of 22 odd outfield players, gives Conte so much flexibility and coupled with the 5 subs, will hopefully mean our mid week short rest games become as good as the full week rest ones.

his run and shot at the weekend was Giggs vs Arsenal esque. Thank God Hugo is better than Seaman.

I was really impressed with him it was almost more worrying when he was on the ball than Coutinho.
He was played in by Emerson. Good player though.

Assuming this is genuine, and not some sort of wind up I’ve missed on a previous page.

Pogba signing for Spurs? You’ve got more chance of being kicked by a snake.
Not a windup, trying to respond to another poster's idea. I assume you mean due to wages, rather than prestige/chance of winning? I'm sure a deal could be structured if we really wanted it and he was open to it but I agree he's nailed on for someone like PSG for one last payday. My point was I wouldnt want him anyway I dont think. You?

Would Eriksen even want to come back?

He was very insistent about leaving and experiencing something new.

Think it’s unlikely he signs tbh.
I think he would. Between his comments obout leaving and now, he has had a life changing experience.

I think he'd love to come back.

Fair reply. I’d love him, he would be a signing that signalled to the world of football what we’re trying to do.

The actuality of this signing ever happening, imho is zero.

He could literally sign for any club he desired. Again, similar to what you said, it’s hard to see him playing for anyone other then PSG / Madrid.

Whoever signs Pogba are mugs and luckily it won’t be us. He has great talent but doesn’t want it. You can’t trust him. Anyway we don’t have to worry about him.

I see you've had a few disagrees but I agree it's an interesting option. I think a bit like Bentancur and Deki who weren't appreciated by Juve fans (and I assume not by fans of other Italian clubs), he could really benefit from a change of scene. He has demonstrated at times that he is an exceptional talent - at Juve, for France and (less often) for Man Utd. I think any player would struggle to excel at Man Utd since Fergie left.

There are question marks over whether he would do the hard yards for Conte in a CM2 as by his own admission he prefers forward-thinking roles. He has often left Man Utd exposed by not tracking back. I think in a midfield 3 in the more advanced role he could do well as he has for France. However given that isnt our preferred formation I think I would pick up Eriksen (if possible) over Pogba for an option off the bench if we want to switch to 5-3-2.

Could he provide competition/rotation to Son/Deki as one of the 2 #10s? Maybe but I think there are better options despite him being "free".

People ridicule Pogba as a shout out because thats what he has become - a laughing stock. Pogba was used by Conte in 3-5-2; Pirlo at base controlling Tempo - Vidal &Pogba runners & Pogba pushing further forward. Ultimately, Conte will go to his favoured formation 3-5-2 from 3-4-3. He would need atleast 4 quality CMs.

Probably I would have said the same about Conte signing for Spurs as manager, a year back

Agree. I feel almost all the RWBs we’ve been linked are lacking in one or two areas, including Singo whose passing looks average at best.

On the other hand, Molina looks good-to-strong in all departments. Plus he has a devastating shot in his locker, too. He’s my current top RWB pick this summer…

I also like the looks of Pedro Porro at Sporting and obviously Livramento at Southampton, but the latter will be almost impossible to pry away from his parent club.

And Calvin Robinson at Aberdeen looks a great young talent. He’d be a really good buy-and-loan signing for the future.

Is it possible you have just seen Molina on a good day and Singo on a bad day, as Singo's passing stats are ok, where as Molina's are poor?

Have we had any recent ITK on lingard?can remember he was link by a lot of journos including Ally Gold who done an article, that we’d be interested this summer on a free.

perhaps the zero game time at United has affected this

Haven't seen anything recently.

Not opposed to us signing him personally, not sure where he'd fit in in a Conte system, but hey. If Antonio want's him, I'm in.

All very quiet on him which probably means he’s signed up with someone already. I know it’s a squad game but the guy will want to start games next season after missing all of this and also with the World Cup coming up he will want to be playing straight off the bat next season. That could well rule us out. He’d probably be best going somewhere like Leicester where I could see him doing well on the right of their attack.

one major injury during his career, the rest small, minor.

exactly why I posted my original comment.
I would rather a player had a couple of major injuries but was available 90% of the time than lots of minor injuries spread over a lot of seasons. That gives the image of someone who cries off at the slightest knock and cant be relied upon for a decent run of games.
