Plus moving to a 3 5 2 bringing on the right ball controlling cm if we are 1 or 2 goals up but on the back foot would be so useful to have.

This is a great point. Something I think Conte is thinking about for next season and something I actually think he’d be implementing now if Skipp was fit. I don’t think he trusts Winks enough to do this. I can see next season with the likes of Skipp and new possession CM there on the bench, that Conte will solidify the midfield to see out games.

It’s why, although a strictly possession CM might not seem an obvious fit for the 343 now, having one would provide piece of the squad puzzle. It’s the reason also I’m warming to the idea of Tielemans, as although in don’t think he’d work in the 343, I can see him as a very useful player if/when we change to 352 either from the start or more likely mid second half to see games out.

Yeah, assumed as much. Bastoni and Barrela are untouchable for Inter. Would sooner sell Lautaro then ether of them.
Imo because Lautaro isn't that good, duping Atleti or even ourselves into paying north of 50m would be a heist.
I saw you mentioning Pau Torres a page or so back. He'd be one of my top targets for LCB for sure. He's quite passive, particularly compared to the ultra aggressive Romero. So if we ever moved to a 4, they'd complement each other well. He's also very tall which is important as we lack height as a collective XI. If we get UCL and Villareal don't (the latter is looking very likely) it's a move we could probably make happen, particularly with their interest in Lo Celso in mind. Bremer - who was great at the weekend against Milan, Schlotterbeck and Gvardiol would also be on my list.

Two more fantastic CM profiles. Both top athletes and hard workers. Fofana provides more goal threat, better ball striking, more class on the ball, whereas Doucoure is a defensive animal and a real smooth mover. I’ve absolutely loved watching Lens play these couple of seasons. Their recruitment is amazing, and Franck Haise has them challenging for Europe. Jonathan Clauss would be near the top of my RWB wishlist (although he is aging), and I’ve mentioned Facundo Medina in the past. A great LCB option.

They both look more than a bit handy. Just goes to show there's masses of talent out there. I'm assuming Sarr will likely be destined for another loan next year. Maybe Lens might be interested in that.

I just dont get it with Torres. Everytime I watch him he makes big mistakes, he seems to panic a lot and is not an elite CB. Dont find him particularly mobile either.

I quite like Lautaro tbh. Thought he worked well for Conte. It’s true he’s not a Vlahovic level talent, but he’s a hard worker, picks up good positions, has room for improvement and understands/works well in Conte’s system. He really hasn’t been able to develop any understanding with Dzeko this season which hasn’t helped him and he’s not great as a lone striker it’s true. Would he be my number one pick, im not sure but then again I’m not sure who would considering our needs. All the players we have been linked to have pros and cons. At a push id probably go Dybala and De Ketelaere, to me that would make more sense then spending €80+ mil on Nunez. But I wouldn’t be against any of them.

Big fan of Bremer, agree he was excellent this weekend. Supposedly Liverpool and now Juve are chasing him as well as Inter who see him as a De Vrij upgrade. It’s a shame he’s not a natural LCB. As much as I’d like him it probably wouldn’t really make sense to get him considering the improvement Dier has made and our desperate need for a quality LCB. Schlotterbeck and Gvardiol would def fit that need well, although I read the other day Liepzig are already saying Gvardiol isn’t for sale. But they are saying the same Nkunku and wouldn’t be surprised if both go for the right price. Just a question if it’s the right price for us.

I think Torres would find the EPL far too intense. He's not very good in the air either which is something we really must have, and he's prone to panicky errors. Davies is much more reliable from a purely defensive angle. Torres real strength is his ball playing ability but there are others (notablyGvardiol and Schlotterbeck) who have all the required tools in their locker imo.

Been some talk of Milenkovic-Savic. Was destined for stardom a few years back but not moved anywhere. Due his move away from Lazio and I think he could work very well in midfield

Fucking guy is slowly driving me (even more) insane.

I swear I've seen so many people on here saying exactly what you've said (@Ghost Hardware is another who's voiced concerns, and I'm sure there's more besides him).

And yet I come back the next day & this Torres dude is top of everyone's wishlist.

What the fuck? Is he shit or not?

Banned from the transfer forums?

Nah, this is just where the real analysis happens. Like stories about shitting your pants at a party, debating who can be the heir to the Carlos Vinicius throne and where we all play pretend and base our analysis of a player and their fit for the club after viewing a 10 minute YouTube clip that has a 1 minute intro to the player celebrating a goal only to find out after watching the following 9 minutes you realize you may be watching the best player ever so it’s surely too good to be true , so then you pivot to looking up some Squawka stats and cherry pick the stats that make them look best in the COMPARISON MATRIX and then proceed to die on the hill, clambering for a player, proclaiming they are THE ONE WE NEED despite literally never seeing them play a full 90 minute match. That’s why.

Yeah but you have to remember most of them haven't seen much of him at all. It's hardly a surprise when quite a few peoples wish lists are literally all players we have already been heavily linked with.

i’ll add to it.

i think he’d be a terrible fit for the league. weak in the air, mistake prone, and seems to lack general confidence when having to defend*.

*i reserve the right to change this opinion when we sign him and he instantly becomes the best defender in the league

It’d cost a lot of money but he’s a really classy player and offers some things we currently lack. Big dude, threat in the air at set pieces and more size defensively. Has beautiful close control and would probably fit really well with the likes of Kane and Kulusevski. Feels like he is on that kind of wavelength.

I’ve never really seen much of him. Could he play in a 2 in midfield?
