Massive game on thursday, which happens to be Valentines Day. :bang:

So what's more important, watching the match or taking the other half out for a meal?

I've booked a table for Friday!

How about you move to Australia like me, that way the game is actually live at 7.00am on Friday the 15th (Australia time). That way you can romance the lady with a box of chocs and a steak meal, hit the hay at a reasonable hour and wake up early the next day for the big match! Easy!

The game here is on at about 5am. Time for a nice meal, some nude fun, a few hours kip, and then up for an early fry-up watching the mighty Spurs. Perfect.

Weekend games can be a bit different. Occasionally the midnight (3pm) kickoff's are missed because of an evening out with her, but she is usually pretty good about it. She is ammused by "it's our biggest game of the season" every week.

If I had to choose then she would win every time, but If she didn't understand how important Spurs are to me then there would be problems.

We sometimes watch games together and her list of favourite players is kind of unusual.
1. Tainio - gave her his flowers after the Peace Cup final.
2. Salty - no-frills player who works hard, does his job and clearly isn't preoccupied with appearance or showing off. This was from the 2005-06 season when he was pretty much ever-present in the side and we didn't concede many goals.
3. Malbranque - She literally said "his tackle is good" (English isn't her first language).

STEP 1
dis the girlfriend/wife, watch the game and feel high for the day. (assuming they win)
STEP 2
go home.. she stands on the doorsteps ready with a mouth full on how you F$@%^ED up, and pay for your screw up til the next game when you decide to F@#$ up all over again.

STEP 3
repeat the above steps

Me too! Foolish but got lucky. Should catch second half :)

Thankfully good London restaurants are impossible to get reservations for at 8pm on Valentines night.

I'll be suggesting this plan as an alternative to my Mrs but I'm not sure it's gonna fly.

Thanks for the inspiration though captinbeefhart. We salute you.

I've currently told my girlfriend that we'll go out for dinner on Thursday, although I'm hoping that having booked nothing this will in fact be impossible and we'll have to go to a wetherspoons/o'neills to eat where the game will of course be on the tv.

Everybody wins...except Slavia Prague...and my girlfriend.
