Seriously guys, why bother? We know how this is going to unfold. Manager sacked, Kane and Sonny leave and Dire becomes captain and Sanchez leads the backline.

What an embarrassment it's the kind of result that underlines there is trouble brewing within. Conte is probably on the brink of walking. I had a bad feeling about this one and so its been proven. When I saw the line-up I thought here we go with that so called defence.

What really was bad was not to see Spence even start and Conte's stubbornness plus assessments are not helping on the support side to those waiting in the wings. He's use to players who know how to win our players don't so effectively look to bring another curtain down on yet another manager it seems.
about damn time we back the manager over the players then. Whoever he wants shot of we get rid even if it's harry.

consolation... bad day in London all around.

if there is one competition I would want to deprioritize, it would be the league cup. there are bigger fish to fry.

beat leeds... and have a good reset after the world cup. fingers crossed. COYS!

Who needs to win the Carrrrabo Cup anyway.

We have bigger ambitions.

Sometime in the future, at some point, rebuilding, squad depth lacking, insufficient funding, that sort of thing.

Roll out the mad Italian.

He's a bit incoherent in post match comments. Kane is really exhausted, but I had to play him. That's nonsense and Kane should've had a couple of days off to get rested before a final push against Leeds.

The result doesn't matter much here. It's just disappointing that Conte hasn't gotten us into a stronger position. And with that a work in progress, why keep flogging our top players like work horses? Maybe be less rigid and give the fringe guys a go.

Losing 2-0 to a bottom of the league side is a shit result any way you look at it. Only 2 shots on target, but at least we had more possession (only cause we were chasing the game). The fact that we fielded a strong side and were utter crap, with a “tired Kane” is both pathetic and embarrassing. But then as a Spurs fan I’m well used to this by now!

Although I believe you win every game you play and try to win every trophy going , getting knocked out, as with Arsenal , it may be a blessing long term.

I agree it’s a poor result but quite frankly I couldn’t care less about this pointless competition. It’s outdated now. We must be the only country with TWO domestic cup competitions which is ludicrous with the intensity of our league . Especially with a disjointed season due to the World Cup . I just wish he admitted it and played the fringe players instead of knackering the main team. If they are knackered for Leeds I will be really pissed off . Concentrate on the league , FA Cup (if you crave a trophy ) and going as far as possible in the CL.

What in the world has happened to dier these last couple months? Went from England must, to looking like someone who’s won a fucking competition! I mean it were bad last night wasn’t it? 2 cbs are an absolute MUST in January (and a rb ) of hes not planning on using spence or doc.

Exactly. You can't polish a turd. Dier, Davies and Sanchez are floaters that need to be flushed by next summer :)

The stagnation of our squad has been such that we still have players starting regularly who really should have been gone over 2 seasons ago.

That's also not including players that we should never have bought in the first place (Emerson, Doherty, Sessegnon, Gil).

Probably just under half the squad by my count.
Yup but everyone wants conte out so that a new manager comes in and puts his arm around them all again and we get a new manager bounce and don’t replace them and rinse and repeat.

I usually want us to compete for any and all trophies as beggars can't be choosers but with this stupid fucking World Cup and the fixture congestion caused I would certainly have understood and been happy for us to play a complete second string in this match.

But we didn't and we still got thumped, so...

Just struggling to see the point of last night. What were our priorities?

I don't understand Conte's thinking.

If his excuse is the regulars were very tired, then don't play them all. The competition is the least important we play in.

If his response is, he wants to win the round, then what does he think will happen with regards to tiredness of the first XI if we add 2-3 more midweek games in January?

I mean Spence looked more of a threat in 10 mins than Doherty or Emerson have all season
You know full well I was speaking in general and not about specific players. If Spence hasn't grasped the tactics in training up until now then that's why he hasn't featured as much. Conte said it before and did so re Bissouma and he is now featuring more. Just needs patience and to work hard. It'll come for him. We also have two other senior RWBs who have had a year under Conte whether you like it or not. That's why he hasn't started or played as much.

After last nights inept display will be quite a relief to have no more Spurs after Saturdays game for 5 weeks. :)
You can blame Conte for tactics or player selection but from the commitment shown the players themselves have no desire to win a Carabao Cup winners medal.
