On one hand, I think Marseille had a really good plan tonight.

As soon as the ball was played into any of our front three, they were right up the back of them and shutting the attack down.

On the other hand, Son continues to take poor touches and give up the ball, whereas tonight Kane was not sharp enough.

They both need to sharpen up for City.

His fairly easy goals have allowed him to escape the criticism that son has received. Admittedly Kane has been better on the ball, but tonight he’s been absolutely awful. Pushed off it by the close marking CB, poor close control, poor decision making, and awful shooting.
But, that’s form for you. And the fact we’ve managed to win 5 of 7 games and are undefeated despite our two best finishers being in terrible form is in a way reassuring that we’re made of slightly stronger stuff nowadays.
