Watched City a few times and they are giving up quite a lot of chances, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get more in a game like that as opposed tonight.

Pep will prepare his team for their strengths, not necessarily our patterns.
Yeah - City's style actually suits us well as they leave acres of space behind.

Regardless of Pep, Haaland, etc I feel much more confident going into any game against City or Pool - teams that always plays openly - than I do against a team like Chelsea that preys on our weaknesses.

Would take a 3-0 loss against City all day long. They were poor against Villa but at home they’ll tear us apart and Haaland will rip Dier a new one. We might have beat them last season but they now have a striker to finish the numerous chances they create.

You’d take a 3-0 loss against a team who would’ve lost against Villa save for some very sketchy refereeing?

What the fuck?

I’ll take a win, personally.

Kane is a bright lad can he not see that he's absolutely useless at freekicks. He walks up everytime as it's his right when they always go into the wall or over the bar. Conte has to sort that out as it's wasting opportunities in good areas.

Yeah total pisstake.

Son has scored a few for Korea recently. Don't know what he has to do to for Kane to let him take a few.

I would take a red card given to them, scoring an own goal for us, and concede a penalty.

I think most of the issues that cause these lethargic starts is all a mental thing. Something we've struggled with for a long time.

I love our fans but I don't recall watching many other teams at home, even when they're playing poorly get so many moans and groans from the home supporters.

Don't get me wrong I understand it to an extent, but we seem really bad for it, every misplaced pass, over hit through ball, poor touch, wrong decision made gets huge groans and grunts, I know the players have to step up equally and get the crowd going but it can't help being on that pitch in an already high pressure game then having to triple guess what you do because you know the moans and groans will follow a bad pass. It's just breeding negativity everywhere and causing more problems on the pitch.

Even a few boo's a half time, I get it, we weren't great, but we didn't go into half time 1 or 2-0 down, it was still 0-0, the boo's were so unnecessary.

He must have it in his sodding contract or something at this point. Years, and years of this. It's very strange, especially if we're now employing someone specifically to help us exploit these positions.

If I'd come up with 4000+ set piece routines, not one of them would have Harry Kane as the taker. Even Dr. Strange couldn't find the one that he'd score for fucks sake.

We were awful really, individually and as a team. A lot of normally reliable players like Romero and Bentancur were well off it, Lloris was awful, Son continued his horrible form. Thankfully Kulu off the bench made a big difference and Richarlison did exactly what we bought him for. Good result but as with most our matches this season the performance needs improving.

Even if it's in his contract or something ridiculous like that you'd figure at some point he'd realise it's in the team's interest (and therefore his interest too) to let someone else take.

I believe he's currently on the longest run of direct free kicks without a goal in PL history.

He's, quite literally, historically shit at them.

When Lloris punched that ball I thought the entire stadium was going to burst into flames. When players are nervy, and the fans react to a shaky moment, it just becomes a negative feedback loop. It would be great if the fans projected to the players the sort of composure and resilience that they'd like to see on the pitch.

To be fair - I wanted to punch Lloris when he made that play... it was such an uncomposed moment.

It’s not him it’s someone else in the team saying “stop you are obviously shit at this kind of thing!”
Surely the whole stadium should be shouting it!

It was, but the fans were already on the teams back by then, as I said, nervy, moany, grunting fans will just breed and spread nervousness and indecisions on the pitch.

Imagine the shit we'd be given Arsenal or Liverpool fans right now if there fans were doing this at home at 0-0?

That’s just not the way it works. Lloris made a rubbish decision under no pressure. It happens… He’s done it a few times but mostly been brilliant!
