I feel like I must've been watching a different game with all the stick Dele is getting. He is clearly on the left of a midfield three, instructed to stay back with only the front three having a license to attack
I haven't read all the comments but yep this is the exact setup and has been all pre season. It's a flat across 433

I have a lot more confidence in skipp than winks based on recent games.
The hunger to work off the ball is noticeably different.

When does he get his license to pass or tackle?

Gil, Lo Celso, maybe Scarlett to come eventually. Winks wasn't bad in preseason but I hope he doesn't get subbed. Don't want to disrupt CB partnership so no to Romero yet, maybe if one of the two gets a yellow card.

Dele's role is similar to Müller - raumdeuter. Roaming around, looking for extra spaces. Doesn't involve much at keeping possession but could be real game changer if he finally finds his chance

Left Bournemouth at 11:45 sat in my seat at 4:30. Been getting better as the game has gone on. Tanganga bossing grealish but ref is awful giving fouls every time. Front three seem off. Dele needs to go off, for Lo Celso maybe. Skipp doing well but inexperience showing occasionally. COYS!!

I'm loving the bravery of those rejoicing in Sanchez at the 45 min mark. You're right, but let's wait a little bit to see if he randomly pushes Grealish to the ground in the box before the final whistle.

I liked the narrow positioning of Son, Bergwijn and Lucas, not letting city play through us. Thoughtful pressing only once City passed the halfline or at opportune moments where the player on/ around the ball have been isolated. Not chasing mindlessly and allowing spaces in behind. Thought Tanganga was excellent, pressing hard and fouling strategically. Hojbjerg also very good, breaking up play and setting up counters. Lucas also has been at times excellent at breaking their press. Son has stretched the game well but made some poor decisions.

Fair play to Nuno, he has the tactics spot on here. Very positive start to the season.

We could take the game if we make better decisions in the final third. City May still win, but we’ve played well as can be expected given where we are at this stage.

Sanchez + Romero would be a native Spanish speaking duo - would benefit them both along with Reggie in terms of finding a settled back line for Romero immediately.
Language doesn't matter. Football language is universal. Kane and Son had an excellent partnership last season despite Kane not speaking English.

If it's 0-0 or we're losing after 60 mins, would love to see Gil on. Will be interesting to see how Nuno approaches subs in general to be honest. Poch never changing anything until 89 mins, and Mourinho all over the map from making subs at half time to not at all. Always felt like 60-70mins is the right time to make an assessment and cycle the team and try and pull some different levers.
