On the verge of enjoying it.
never bodes well.
Strong in defence,
fast on the break.
Need some belief
up front now.
Sterling doesn't like it up him,
Grealish is used to it.

I feel like I must've been watching a different game with all the stick Dele is getting. He is clearly on the left of a midfield three, instructed to stay back with only the front three having a license to attack

We have 32% possession, playing mostly on the right side and counter attack. What are people expecting dele to do here? Bringing on Lo Celso is not gonna change anything.

Pretty decent first half: defence whilst room for improvement is doing quite well. Lucas is looking very good, Son needs to get his head up earlier as passes have been on.
A lot of positives to take I feel

Aside from Dele I’m not sure anyone was particularly bad, maybe Son given his usual standard.

Sanchez doing well, Tanganga our MOTM so far.

Impressed with Torres for City as well. Kane will never match his work rate if he goes there so I’m not too sure that he would be a guaranteed starter every week for them.

Yeah, Dele done nothing wrong out there at all. Most of the attacking play has ended up going through the right, and I don't think anyone would be too happy if Dele was showing up over there when it's clearly not where he's playing.

I know I'm gonna get slaughtered for this but for me

Alli is anonymous, I don't see the point of his role

At least with Bergwijn he is making runs and being dangerous

Alli is trying to be too fancy and not seeing enough of him in the game

In a weird way, I'd prefer them to be swapped. Dele doesn't have the hustle or mobility for his position, and Berg has absolutely no chill our vision for his. Personally, I'd put GLC in for Berg and move Dele into the front three.

Love the desire from the boys. Winning a lot of individual battles and second balls.

I love that they've all decided to avoid trying to take Tanganga on! Sterling/Grealish/Mendy get right up to him and just offload the ball! He is an absolute beast.

We aren't even playing that well, but the way we are set up is world's away from jose-ball!

Bit more fluidity in the midfield and we could really get something from this game!

After a rough first 15 minutes that was encouraging. Defense looking much more calm and actually spending time on the front foot instead of sitting back further and further. Reguilon looking more confident and Tanganga tremendous. Still, City could have had three, but still more confident in them when Romero is able to step in, the midfield needs to improve a bit, and when it's not City.

Really like the Skipp Hojbjerg pairing although Skipp as expected had a hard start. Would like to see Lo Celso paired with these two instead of Alli who is improving but generally whose game is just not suited to playing so far away from goal.

Moura has been a real bright spot. Son way too indecisive. Bergwijn needs to get more involved, pretty much nothing has come up the left side. Need to get a 9 in for Son to play off as his skill set is somewhat wasted trying to lead the line, with Moura dropping in-between the lines, to link play up.

Other thoughts. Great corners from Son. Keep putting them in like that and good things will happen. I'm already sick of Grealish falling over and getting the whistle. Lovely from the crowd.
