He's not the only one, so let's not make this about Dier.

Toby does it, Winks does it, Davies does it, Davinson does it, Sissoko does it.

I call it pointless passing. Where they stand still and wait, already deciding they are going to pass it whether there's anything on or not rather than attack the space and draw a defender out.
I think that’s the way they are coached.

I never listen to the commentary: who wants to know how many goals a player scored last season etc? Especially if the verbiage is coming from an ex gooner or a Manure has been. If a guy standing next to you at the Lane carried on chatting such rubbish you would smash him in the mouth.
That's the reason I watch it on Portuguese or Croatian stations that I can't understand!
And it’s cheaper.

Much more like it. Leeds certainly helped us out but we clearly tried to be a lot more positive throughout, pushed the line up more than normal and pressed more. That said when we lost possession we defended the area very well.

Felt like the balance was spot on today. Keep that up and we can have a good season.

In terms of chances we could easily have scored a few more, Bergwijn had two quality chances for sure.

Strong performance from our CM pair and obviously Kane and Son showed their quality on the important second goal.

On to Villa for what will be a tough game. COYS

Has anyone else picked up how often Dier is sloppy with his distribution from defence when under little pressure. It Doesn't seem to depend on length of pass either. Just noticed it the last few games and also against Leeds today?
It's not just him, there's been so many "up 'n' unders" recently it's cheesed me right off!

I'm fine with hoof-wanging it clear when it needs it but so many occasions there's been time to keep the ball and play it to a team mate and keep control and possession.

9 times out of 10 it comes straight back or concedes dangerous possession too, someone needs a slap!

Good performance that, should have gone in half time 4-0 up.
Liked the midfield two which has a foundation to get better, back 4 solid .
Good. Next .

Leeds fron the off exploited gaps but luckily were not good enough to take advantage. Pass 15 mins we conrolled the game which was nice to see. We need to get our defending right because better teams will do better against us. Im optimistic with our way forward just need some inspiring performances.

Winks was effective without being noticed. He was hounding and chasing in the midfield . His passing was bad though . Few times he had a chance to pass forward it went to a Leeds player
WInks produced the forward pass to Bergwijn that led to the penalty. And several others.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Except for the pass to Bergwijn that resulted in the pen. ?

I think in some games like this we were so quietly effective, to a point the opposition was totally nullified but they were thought as being sub par instead.

Would love for the credit being given to us where it is due of course, but I wouldn't mind for us to just cruise on this and get back to raking up the points as more focus are now on liverscum and United. When we had the balance like yesterday, we can play against any team. Can just feel the confidence that opposition couldn't hurt us at all.
