I'd like to see Bale be subbed on more in the league. It is hard to see what he can do in Europa league with the talent around him. He has always stepped up in big games, put him on for 20 minutes in some league games with our main XI and see what happens.

He doesn’t deserve to play a single more minute with the way he’s playing, stop overprotecting him. I would rather give Clarke minutes right now than Bale

My dad just said the same thing to me about Winks. He's nowhere near anyway but his reading of the game is absolutely horrendous

Yeah. The first 20 mins he spent most of his time down on the left where Reguilon was.

Good to see a bit more aggression, but still lacking any positioning

Davies was poor, almost gave away 2 goals.
They haven't even had a shot on target. Tell you what, seeing as we're playing jackafuckingnory, Lo Celso was poor, he almost gave away 26 goals, the wrapper off a Sausage McMuffin, half a stick of Wrigley's and a small amount of toejam :D

I don’t think how we play suits him. Saying that he’s playing tonight pretty much at the same level he was playing for Wales in the last international break. The game passes him by most of the time but he’s quality on the ball and will make something happen. Is that enough though, I’m not sure?
Thats exactly what we should expect from Bale.

The Bale of 2010-14 used to have defenders on toast and always be looking to get past them.

Post 2014 Bale is all about incredible 'moments' in the game. He's never been a player who is always involved and on the ball, he often plays on the periphery but what does set him apart is those moments of pure brilliance that decide games.

Seeing as we are not a possession based team, this shouldn't be a major problem as he can come alive at the right moment rather than be on the ball every five seconds.

I dont get why oeople

Think he'll start on Sunday, personally.

Jose isn't starting Bale in the league until he shows more. He doesn't care about superstars or big salaries, you have to earn your place in the league 11. I'm not Bergwijn's biggest fan but in terms of what he does for the team, on current form, he's shitting all over Bale.

Jesus christ, he's a backup goalkeeper.
Why are people so determined to scrutinize Joe Hart of all people? What do you even expect?

He used to be England's number 1 and played very well in a title winning City side. He's not some random lower league back up keeper.

The main thing with Bale seems to be lack of match fitness and belief. Also don't think playing in a 2nd string lineup with basicly no match training or geling is doing him any favours. He might be over the hill but his outings have been far too few and far apart to judge at this stage imo.

a draw is same as a loss here (apart from 1 uefa coefficient point), so it will be very annoying if we don't go all out for a win. I don't mind losing if we get caught on the break, but if we continue to be cautious and Antwerp have more possession than us again second half (46% - 54% first half possession stats) it will be very disappointing and a little embarrassing

Yup I believe he is, no one can deny he’s been a disappointment. I’d love for him to prove me wrong but I can’t see it.
I agree....but I still have a feeling he is going to make a telling contribution towards the end of the season in some big matches. Like Ali rousing himself for one last fight.

Bale as we all know has tremendous talent but beginning to wonder if his legs have gone. Like walking football at times, hard to see him being more than just an impact sub in the league
