Saw ther Game. I must admit, the more I see Hutton the better he looks ( Even better the nCarr, when he was on his game), Tom looked Great, some pathetic corners ... Lennon looked Lively, Bless Woodgate .... Robbo was brave ( well he had to be after his error..). We should have buried these Pikey B'stards ( sorry, I just cannot stand Spammers ... make me sick !) But over the moon ! We needed this win today, bring on the Clogs ....

My stream was mainly choppy but what I did see was Gilberto losing the ball just outside our box when trying to play it out. Whats wrong with playing the easy ball? Surely someone with his experience would have learnt that by now.

Don't get me wrong I'm very happy after today but still think Gilberto has a long way to go before losing the tag of 'Oh shit Gilberto's on the ball'

If it's the incident I think you are describing it was chimbonda that lost ball by hanging on to it way too long.

Like I said my stream was choppy and the commentator definately said 'berto' on that incident.

If it wasn't him I take it back

Just realised - we've now beaten every London premiership team since Juande came - didn't we used to be crap at derbies....

Come on! At some stage we have to factor into the equation that Gilberto is:

a) coming back from injury and therefore lacking match practice;

b) adjusting to the increased pace of the EPL;

c) Brazil's left back and by most accounts cultured enough not only to play LM but even to play as a Number Ten.

There are many criticisms that could be thrown at a player with that sort of pedigree. Being "shit on the ball" is not even on the list.

Gilberto marked tight.
He created chances.
He won the ball often.
He scored a goal.

Whats more could he do?

Indeed

I remember Man Utd fans moaning about the performances of a certain LB they signed in January 2006....

Can't rember his name though, pretty sure he can't still be playing! he'll never win anything!

Just back from the game :grin:. Really good result but boy did we take our foot off the pedal in the second half. Huddlestone didn't come out at all and we spent too much time strolling around. Berbatrov was as annoyed at this as I was :wink:.

Spam fans we're singing "Stand up if you hate Tottenham" just as we scored the second which was funny. At half time they were singing "4-0! We're gonna lose 4-0!" and that proved to be right.

No doubt Berbatov is getting the MOTM plaudits, but special mention to Zokora who was solid, as was Dawson. Hutton continues to improve, but Lennon's crosses haven't in the past two years.

Still - beating the Spammers 4-0. How sweet is that?

Nothing to moan about today.

Apart from Hutton being repeatedly attacked by several Wet Spam players according to the Beeb.

Gilberto's and Bent's goals will do wonders for their confidences.

Several? Try the whole team. I'm sure even Alan Curbishley had a kick at him at full time.:think:

Well played the lads though, a vast improvement from Thursday. Good to se we carried on playing when Keano and Malbranque went off, too. We usually sit back and take it up the arse when Keano gets subbed.

Probably just Pleat's latest interpretation of Shambingo's name.

Always great to stuff the spams!:grin:
Dodgy first 5 minutes, then the Hudd & Berb Show. Great performances from Lennon and Zoko, and Hutton looking v.comfortable once again (when Boa Morte wasn't trying to cripple him). Should have filled our boots from then on, but we allowed them to hustle us out our play in the second half far too much, and the slimline Hudd looked like his old self in one key respect - knackered.

Hope Ramos took note of who switched off completely :)hello: Chimbs!) and who lost concentration :)hello: Daws!). Great to see Gilberto score such a fine goal when he came on, and I thought Bent worked hard for his brief spell.

Another great bit of news this weekend to chear every Tottenham fan up is that Ar5ena1 dropped two points meaning Utd are now two points behind with a game in hand...

Big game for us and we really rose to the occasion. The gap's now 5 points and we have a game in hand so that chasm has been closed and now we can start focussing on assaulting the top half of the table.

Seemed to me that, rather than us slacking off, West Ham really upped their game in the second half and, especially with ten men, they did really well breaking up our passing and closing us down. It might have worried me but, after a nervy start, our back line started to settle. Slowly but surely they're starting to get a bit of cohesion, our defenders, which is good to see.

Determined show by both sides, but slack defending and some really sharp work by Dimi and Hudd meant they had a mountain to climb to get back from 2 down.
