We took the kids to see the Lion King today, so I was spared from having to watch us play. It was great. I checked the score and the interval (whatever it’s called - half-time?) and saw we were 1 up. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it finished 3-3. When was the last time Southampton scored 3 goals in a game, let alone in a half? Incredible.

And then I’ve just watched his press conference. Wow. He has gone for everybody there. Other than himself, obviously. Levy must really be regretting not pulling the trigger weeks ago now. Conte is in full self-preservation mode and we are going nowhere fast. Get him gone.

I know things are proceeding rapidly in other threads but given how we let a two goal lead slip, only 62 pages?

A sure sign of the apathy that's setting in. Roll on next season. We can start with a clean slate, some new players, a new manager and all that stuff. That'll give us at least six apathy free months :D

I know we can blame the players. But at the end of the day. They are sheep. They follow the Shepard. And are drilled to play certain way. That’s why some managers get a tune out of players other managers can’t. So yet again I lay the blame at the door of the manager. He is coaching this team. He is telling them how to play. The constant back passing. The safety first approach. Not playing to the obvious strength of the team. It’s so blatantly obvious. The past is on Levy and ENIC. The current mess is on Conte and his tactics.

Im on my way back to the car from the game. In short, Im seething.....Im seething at Conte for coaching the team in such a way that they are so passive, Im seething at Levy for being the custodian of a club that cares more about Beyonce concerts than having 2 quality CB's, Im seething at a VAR system that is so contemptible that all one can do is laugh.

In addition, I see a lot of fans saying we have a "weak mentality". I don't agree, what we lack is TECHNICAL ABILITY.....Dier, Perisic, Davies, Hojbjerg are all technically GARBAGE. Our ability to retain possession comfortably and control games is non-existent...we are a team of cloggers with the exceptional Kane to dig us out of a hole and mask how technically inferior we are to most teams.

Lastly, Conte needs to go now. No point waiting until summer Enrique is free, Gallardo is free, Tuchel is free...Poch is free (wouldn't be my number 1 choice, but that's a separate point) bring in a new manager and let them use the rest of this season to start to undo the negative football mindset that has been coached into them. Let the new manager use the rest of the season to change to an attacking formation...using Sarr and Skipp and a Kulu as the AM. Let the new manager, play Danjuma rather than sulkily and childishly not playing him because he was a club signing.

FWIW, I'd like us to bring in Enrique. I know some of our fans have said "but he'll want a complete overhaul"....GOOD! That's what we need....get rid of the poor technique cloggers and bring in technical players who can play his attacking, progressive, front foot football. Ditto Gallardo....I'd be very happy with him also.....a manager who plays on the front foot with constant movement.

I'd be reluctant to see Poch back because I feel he'd want to prove a point with existing players (GLC, Tanguy, Sanchez) whereas I strongly feel we need to completely renew the squad.

We've got a couple of weeks to calm down, but right now, I have zero desire to see this team play again, (which makes me sad given Ive been a STH for 35 years).

Oh, and did I mention that I'm seething?.................
"Lastly, Conte needs to go now"

We were 1-3 up.

See when someone says "FWIW, I'd like us to bring in Enrique" it's pretty much like saying "rinse and repeat".

When the penny finally drops that the likes of Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Sess, Pierre, Emerson, Tanganga and the rest of that sorry lot are rid then progress will never be made, whether that be under Poch, Nuno, Jose or Conte, Enrique or Jesus H Christ.

Conte is spot on, the players are never the issue, the weak among us blame tactics, systems and players that "don't fit" the circumstances.

Look at the trophy cabinets filled with trophies throughout Europe filled by Jose and Conte and convince me that they are at fault.

We are a club filled with weak, yellow livered players who are stealing a living.

At last we have a manger who tells it as it is.

I just watched the Walcott goal again. Wow. What is Dier doing? He moves away from him and retreats to the goal line. Can we please get a new CCB as a priority?

I remember hearing when I was about 12 years old (23 years ago): “great teams are built from the back”. Yet we piss about not sorting it out.

Dier comes across as a good lad but I'm starting to really dislike him for his on field errors. It's not like you can say its rare or occasional and forgive him it happens all the time because he simply isnt good enough.

He's a decent midtable PL player. That's it.

We should be aspiring for much much better

Watching the goals back over breakfast. How in god's name was that a penalty. Wotsisname jumps in front of Sarr and there's no contact. It's absolute bullshit.

I think Tuchel is more flexible with his teams, I just think some of his football is fairly dull. Maybe a bit harsh but I am not overly keen.
He’s bloody dull too

If the hierarchy doesn’t change and we continue to win fuck all let’s go all in for someone who’s swashbuckling with a real all out attacking style

I mean what have we got to lose, especially with our exceptional defence!

I'll put one mitigating factor towards yesterday's events and that is the injuries we took, losing Richarlison so early knocked all the training we've done this week but it was losing Ben Davies that hurt in the end.
I can hear the cries of bollocks already but the fact is that he is better as the LCB than Lenglet but Lenglet plays there because Davies is covering the Wingback role. If he'd stayed on we could have made the same substitutions but taken off Lenglet and moved Ben back there which would have made us more secure than we ended up. Even so we could have just brought Emerson on that side to have given us some sort of defensive strength on the left.
All of which doesn't fully excuse us I guess when you consider Saints lost both Centre backs in the first half.
