I have to doff my cap to Harry on this one as he has well and truly went out on a limb to bring this man to White Hart Lane, despite reservations by us as fans that he would provide us with anything we didn't already possess in midfield but to all sceptics, including myself, I have to indulge in a huge slice of humble pie.
An analysis of Scott Parker today typifies everything you want in a central midfielder who's pre-requisite is to add bite, keep it simple and lead by example. What impresses me most about Scott Parker though, is the influence he has on others around him and the drive to chase down every ball whilst conversely adopting a calm and composed manner with possession, keeping things simple.
All these traits reminded of a player I admired greatly in the 90's and early 00's, someone who would drive the team forward when times were tough and lead by example but also an extremely talented player, that man, you might have guessed, is Roy Keane and folks, I think we've found our very own here in Scott Parker.
Before a few smart-arse's dig up stats between the two I'm sure they don't compare at all well but that's beside the point, for what Parker currently brings to this side now he is every bit as important to the teams dynamic and you can see his influence on how we conduct ourselves on the pitch.
Ledley King is Captain of this club, but for me, the true leader on that pitch is Scott Parker.
