Keane or Berbatov will win the official award. So, Steed. Give him something to show for his season (apart from a CC medal).

Keane just shades it for me over Steed.
Think hes having a better finish to the season Than Steed..
Steed had a great first half of the season though.

If Bale, Hutton and Woodgate had all played a full season for us, i would have picked one of them, i just dont think they have played enough to get the votes!

so i went for Berbatov

So you would have gone for an Englishman, a Welshman or a Scotsman yet still ignored the Irishman in favour of a Bulgarian. Is this some kind of joke? :)

I had a real struggle deciding between Steed and Keane too - Malbranque has proven how you don't need pace when you've got such a great technique and, almost single handedly, dragged us through some real low points this season.

The only reason i chose Keane is because he really is everything you could want in a player. Passionate, quick, can turn on a penny and has developed an understanding with Berbatov that amazes me regularly.

Not quite sure where all of Dimi's votes came from, to be honest - for me Steed has been a far more consistent player

Keano all the way for me. At the start of the season I thought he would lose his place to Bent but he raised his game to another level. I think he could get into any of the top four teams. A very consistent performer.

Malbranque has been excellent this season on a consistent basis but because he showed a lack of bottle and commitment in the penalty shoot out against PSV he has gone down a bit in my estimation. If he takes it and misses then fair enough but to not take one at all was a bit of a disgrace.

Good post but I still voted for Malbranque, because I thought he was so shit under Jol and since Ramos has come in he has been immense, whilst playing out of his natural position.
It was close call between Keane and Malbranque. Steed had the edge in my opinion for the same reasons you have given but.............my vote swayed to Keane when Malbranque refused to take a penalty against PSV, where I am sure the outcome would have been different.

I don't get the Steed thing either, he's average. I reckon that if Bale or Woodgate had played all season, they'd be right up there for this. I voted Berbatov though.

agreed

I would say because he puts himself about every game ( people love commitment ) and while he does deserve credit for that, he is only really a better version of Michael Brown

but as you said, this is not the thread for that

Shouldn't we wait till the season is over? There's still plenty of games to play and if one of the main contenders has a barnstorming finish won't that sway opinions.

No. We have to hold this now because once the season ends the players all disperse to play internationals/Euro 2008/go on holiday etc

Aye, it's gotta be Keane. He's been consistent over most of the season (apart from the first few games), scored his 100th Spurs goal, and looked like a proper Spurs fan during that cup final! Biting his nails in the closing few minutes on the bench, and then balling his eyes out in a passionate man hug with Berba! This is the season he became a true Tottenham legend
