Aside from the AVB out, AVB out, AVB out threads, what players - who I think should be taking a lot more of the flak - do you think aren't up to it?

For me?

Michael Dawson. The guy is a nice bloke, but that means nothing. He's a second rate footballer who's been holding us back for years. He's incredibly slow, very clumsy, has little or no awareness and his distribution is poor (HOOF). He's the first that has to go. Selling Caulker and keeping Dawson was a criminal decision.

Kyle Naughton. It's not just today, and I know he's a right back and not left back, but today really showed he's not Premiership standard, nevermind top 4 quality. At best he can be back up for Kyle Walker and only Kyle Walker as thankfully Kyle's a great athlete who doesn't miss any games. But I'd sell him if I had the chance. Not good enough.

Mousa Dembele. One good game, five bad. I like his strength on the ball. But I like my centre backs to be strong, not necessarily my centre mids. He can't pass well enough. He can't pass at all to be honest. For a central midfielder it's abysmal. His direct running usually comes to nothing, is he a defensive midfielder, an attacking midfielder? What does he really bring. Him and Paulinho in the middle alongside a proper defensive midfielder and people wonder why we struggle to create and are slow in possession? Why we're not entertaining anymore? I just can't see how so many still support him. We need to get rid of this guy as soon as possible.

Emmanuel Adebayor. The guy is a complete waste of a huge wage. The quicker we can ship him on and get someone who's evenly remotely interested in playing football in his place, the better. Finding someone silly enough to take a chance on him, at the price he comes, is the tough bit though.

Would like to know who everyone thinks aren't good enough to see if there's a general consensus.

I just get the feeling that with a new/better manager, Adebayor will work wonders with Soldado.
Hasn't been really given a chance this season.
I would experiment with the link up with Soldado and if attitude and the chemistry work then we have a winner if not then yes SELL in January is possible.

As for Dawson, I hate his diagonal pass and the risk he takes by demanding the ball from Lloris and then getting us into trouble at the back!

Naughton was very, very poor today!!

I think that Dawson is being made to look a lot worse than he actually is because of the stupid high line AVB insists on playing.

and the fact he has left and right backs that are either filling in & out of position, or spend more time charging up field and forgetting to track back with so much effort. Does leave him a little exposed, but i can't see how any of our options at the back, even without injury problems, could play that position the way it is right now.

All of them and especially the overrated BIG TIME Dembele, he aint that good.
Sorry i and couple of others(the op) have said he really does slow the play badly and when he loses it we usually get punished.

Dawson definitely can't be one of our starting CBs..he should be our cup only man heh.

Dembele definitely isn't consistent enough to be in our starting 11, but I'd be fine with him as a sub/backup..but who knows if he would be. Might as well cash in, with capuoe/sandro/paulinho we have enough options, what we need is players like eriksen/holtby/? to be playing (there's been too many games without either of them playing, even when eriksen wasn't injured). 3 box to box midfielders and some underperforming wingers isn't going to do much for us...holtby needs to be given his time, and hopefully eriksen is back asap.

Yep, he is what he is, and he can't play like a player he isn't as he isn't technical enough. But there are plenty of worse players whose teams aren't shipping 5 at home. He's been poor of late, but it does seem like he's being hamstrung by the high line.

Naughton on the other hand is rot...

Dembele analysis is spot in, one good game every now and then and people think he's exceptional, then for a couple of games after he's awful and the excuses come out. The man can't pass. Give me a three man midfield of Holtby, Eriksen and Sandro and let's try passing the ball!

Watch Dembele as he jogs casually while our Suarez dismantles our defense. Such an attitude is not good for a team with high aspirations. The same could be said for Paulinho, who completely gave up marking for the second goal. Maybe this laziness is due to AVB not holding the players accountable for poor performances, but it needs to improve or else they should be replaced.

I thought you meant AVB's backroom staff, just nobody knows their names so it would be awkward to sack them.
