If we sign an attacking midfielder e.g. Diego  in the summer, he is better than Jenas and should play in that position. Jenas would be good cover for that position or right side midfield but you are talking about him at RB? He isn't that type of player. Same as Tainio. Eventually they would get caught out.

Poulsen is a DM.

i dont know.. jenas has the pace and abilities to make a great attacking rb, and playing there regularly and in training would force him to improve on his tackling.

tainio would also do well i think as he is a great tackler, but would not count on him getting forward much..

But why would you play either when we have better players for those positions? Just to accomodate them?

What??? Jenas out to RB? He's had a great season. He's had the odd game where he's slipped into anonymity but he's massively improved since last season, and is back playing international football. Don't slip into lazy stereotyping, please.

If we need to strengthen midfield, surely we look to replace Zokora first??

Poulsen for Zokora.

For me, that would be enough. We'd have Jenas and Poulsen in midfield, with Huddlestone on the bench. O'Hara and Tainio could also step in.

That said, I wouldn't say no to the likes of Lucho Gonzales and/or Tiago.

I dunno why people are acting like I'm the first ever person to be putting a play on players names to make them insults, it happens every day!

The idea of the thread was really to think about how in the world fill in,out of position CB's like Zokora and Hudd can be used more effectively than an experienced player like Rocha. Doesn't really work out does it? It's always going to be Rocha regardless of how much you dislike him. Because he is an actual defender. How can Ramos rate him less than the fill ins? Obviously there is some circumstance we are unaware of, there usually is, but I have been a little confused over this.

Oh, that makes it OK, then. :stupid:

It would seem so.

I think that people would probably agree the centre back order is:

1/2 King/Woodgate
3 Dawson
4 Kaboul
5 Rocha
6 Zokora

Rocha simply is not going to get games. He was bought as a stopgap and that was it. What he lacks in height and pace, he makes up with his attitude and determination, but unfortunately that only takes him a certain way to becoming a decent centre back. Unfortunately he will be on his way in the summer.

NO, it is:

1/2 King/Woodgate
3 Dawson
4 Kaboul
5 Zokora
6 Huddlestone
7 Rocha
