Hugo 6 - Little to do
Walker 5 - poor today
Dier 7 - excellent
Toby 6 - Solid apart from mistake
Jan 7 - good game, but should of been a bit better for the goal
Davies 6 - not quite the level he has been recently
Wanyama 7 - defensively was good, particularly in the last 20, but early on was wasteful on the ball
Dembele 7.5 - very good throughout ball glued to the feet, set up erkisen.
Eriksen 7 - wonderful goal put in good shift pressing the defence
Dele 7 - won the penalty, could of scored more
Son 6 - Worked hard but didn't look comfortable today

Trippier 6 - stupid cut back, out of position a few times, but did well otherwise.
Winks 7.5 - brilliant when coming on
Vince 7.5 - great cameo.

We were very slacking in the 2nd half. Every single player. How we can play so well in the 1st half and turn up crap in the 2nd just beats me.
I thought we game managed the second half very well after it went to 2-1. Always in control at that point, they hardly got a shot away.

Winks livens us up every single time he comes on. needs to start a few games now. He could be instrumental in pushing us forward and if we get ahead Dembele is better suited to shutting the opposition out. Eriksen MOM.

2-0 is a tricky scoreline, stick or twist?

2nd half I felt our inability to make the ball stck up top hurt us. I felt Poch should have brought Janssen on sooner and thought quite frankly his substitutions were bizarre.

Odd one to judge.

Thought Lloris looked shaky today. His kicking was abysmal, but everyone misplaced passes today.
A lot of our long diagonals were way off.

Enjoyed Winks and Janssen.

Overall, maybe Eriksens first half display aside, I think everyone blew hot and cold a bit. I don't think there were really any standout culprits as being woefully gash or anything. And similarly being exceptional either.

I'm just pleased we won, having made slightly hard work of it.

Southampton very effectively cut off our building from the back which made Lloris have to kick long way more than usual. When most of those kicks are going towards Son we were never going to win many of them. I thought Janssen should have come on earlier to negate this.

It was two very different performances in each half. Wanyama was incredibly sloppy in possession in the first half, and I'm sure Dembele was winning the ball more. Winks should have come on earlier as well.

Fortunately we had enough to grind out the win, although Southampton didn't have many chances, relying too much on balls over the top for Long who was always offside.

Every week I try and be objective but Victor just keeps coming out #1

What a signing he has been.

Indeed. He's a much better footballer than I ever thought he was as well. Very composed and a trick or two in him. Knows his limitations as a forward passer, but that's OK too.

Had to give to the man who always makes us tick - Christian Eriksen.
Notable that when he is off form so is the team - the pivot for the side whp gets thru more work than most give him credit for.
What we need is someone who can do his job when he needs to be rotated/rested.

No idea how some people think Dembele was MOTM, wasn't even that great at retaining the ball.

Except Winks, Dembele had our highest passing accuracy whilst making the most number of passes (joint with Jan.) He also won the ball more than Wanyama, who was joint highest for losing the ball, and set up Eriksen for the first goal.
