Seriously?

A joke I'm missing or are you reading that much into it?

My guess that was fairly random. And if it wasn't why does it have to be "coaches" vs. players? Strange dichotomy to me.

I'm not sure how often that group of "coaches" have worked together. Some clearly haven't before. They probably set a target of reaching at least EL - a target they (and the players) of course reached. Would be very odd if they weren't pleased with that - even if obviously the long term targets should be a lot higher than a scrappy draw for 6th.

Happy they are pleased, it just looked a little bit crap seeing our coaching staff in a huddle jumping up and down as if we’d won the league as the players trudged past looking downbeat knowing they’d played abysmally and scraped into the Europa league as Wolves failed to draw at Chelsea. I’d have thought that they’d have celebrated the league position (which was an achievement given where we were in November) later on over a glass of wine.

It seemed weird, and especially after such a crap performance against a very limited Palace team who had largely outplayed us despite having nothing to play for.

Like I said, I suspect the most likely explanation is the coaching staff get a significant bonus for qualifying for Europe.

Their attitude to the Europa League is one of the reasons why we'll have a chance of winning it.
And why our former managers hardly won anything in their career. You don't win anything with a "meh we'll see how it goes" attitude.

I thought they had rights to celebrate. They took over a very depressed looking squad who were in a massive slump and had played like crap for about half the year including the previous premier league campaign, then we got loads of injuries and had some when they joined. To get to 6th was a great achievement in the end and it means more money from another cup and another cup they can look to win next year. The Europa League has had a larger investment recently in winnings and TV money which will help buy more players and players will want to join a team that is in europe. Yes it's not champs league but it is a european competition in a huge stadium.

People need to be a bit more glass half full in my opinion instead of shitting on anything that is good.

I’d suggest that for the players, to have worked hard to get into a respectable league position after a very difficult season, finishing on a poor performance but turning around to see our manager and coaches clearly happy with the culmination will have done them good.

Sissoko piss/10
Agreed. I know he’s a trier but really, if there’s a fee to be had for him we need to get it. I know everyone says that you need your willing options in a squad, but we have enough of these. Some of his passing yesterday was disgraceful, and I’d say suggests a lack of focus as much as any technical deficiency.

I found our bench’s celebrations rather distasteful. Given it was only JM and the coaches and not the players suggests it was bonus related rather than any actual footballing glory.

You obviously don't know how rich JM is or how tight DL is to assume those celebrations were anything to do with a bonus.

Yea but we had lots of attacking situations that could/should of led to more goals against Leicester. You don't need to look at the exact stats to come away with that

The two performances were very, very different.
I will concede that the performances were different but what I will not concede is that either were good.
