Seriously?
A joke I'm missing or are you reading that much into it?
My guess that was fairly random. And if it wasn't why does it have to be "coaches" vs. players? Strange dichotomy to me.
I'm not sure how often that group of "coaches" have worked together. Some clearly haven't before. They probably set a target of reaching at least EL - a target they (and the players) of course reached. Would be very odd if they weren't pleased with that - even if obviously the long term targets should be a lot higher than a scrappy draw for 6th.
Happy they are pleased, it just looked a little bit crap seeing our coaching staff in a huddle jumping up and down as if we’d won the league as the players trudged past looking downbeat knowing they’d played abysmally and scraped into the Europa league as Wolves failed to draw at Chelsea. I’d have thought that they’d have celebrated the league position (which was an achievement given where we were in November) later on over a glass of wine.
It seemed weird, and especially after such a crap performance against a very limited Palace team who had largely outplayed us despite having nothing to play for.
Like I said, I suspect the most likely explanation is the coaching staff get a significant bonus for qualifying for Europe.
