I think we'll lose to Burnley this weekend, purely on the basis of the prevailing mood in this thread. Or we'll win at Burnley but Liverpool will also win at Old Trafford.

As soon as people start planning out specific results in a bunch of future fixtures that ends up with us winning the league - like we're setting up the Rube Goldberg machine in that Mousetrap board game - something comes along to throw a spanner in the works. How often did that Mousetrap mechanism break down somewhere along the way before the final trap could be sprung? Every time, motherfuckers. Fucking Mousetrap. :grumpy:

Liverpool are favourites at the bookies despite not winning there that often.

Its not great if you're getting married at 2pm on 13/4 and suspect we'll be opening the new stadium for that Huddersfield game. On the one hand I've only got myself to blame. On the other hand, we were supposed to be in that new stadium in September!!

Hoping Bournemouth on the 4th of May gets moved for the same reason!

Sorry Chris wood is not fast. Average pace your two examples were just bad defending not pace.

well if he hasn't got pace, then we better upgrade our CB's, because him and Barnes caused us so many problems today, and not just in the air

If Arsenal win at home against Southampton and Bournemouth, they will be 4-5 points behind us when they play us. Because afte this performance, I can't see us winning against Chelsea mid week. And we have Man City and Liverpool in the run in. I think it will a tough race for top 4.

This is hugely annoying and whilst I wasnt expecting us to beat Burnley as easily as some had alluded to, i didnt expect us to 'bottle it' and it is bottling it... wolves and now this.

Hopefully we have enough about us to finish top four... big games this week

Yeah because Chelsea are in such great form too.

Yet again here we are on SC. The other side of 90 mins we were title contenders and talking about how we're gunna be in and around there. Now we're suddenly going to start constantly losing and our rivals will win every game. Arsenal and Chelsea have only strung a streak of 3+ wins together twice all season. 12 games to go for those sides, we're 10 points ahead of 5th. If we only won 7 games until the end of the season, our rivals would have to win at least 11 out of 12

No, but we have been lucky lately. A late goal against Newcastle, lucky against Leicester. I can see us dropping some more points apart from the expected ones against Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. And I have never seen us as title contenders. We can't the league with wing backs like Rose, Aurier and Trippier.

going to be close to the end with united and 1 of chelsea or arsenal, we cant afford to slip up in these type of games again otherwise top 4 will really be a struggle.

This thread goes from pillar to post . Arsenal and Chelsea will drop points too, the former in particular are just not very good.

In terms of matches against the top 6, we have by far the toughest run in than any of the others. We have Chelsea, Liverpool and City A Arsenal H
Arsenal have only us away and United H
United have Liverpool, City and Chelsea H and Arsenal A
Chelsea have us H and Liverpoool and Man U A

If we lose to Chelsea and Arsenal our 10 point gap will probably be only 1 point. With City and Liverpool away still to come. Today was a massive setback.

And if we beat Chelsea and Arsenal, it'll probably be a 13 point gap. It's all ifs, buts and maybes.

Fact of the matter is that Chelsea and Arsenal both need us to lose 3-4 games. In the event of that happening, they'd have to win pretty much all of their games.

The good thing is that a win as soon as Wednesday will put this defeat completely behind us, bad thing is that this performance today makes me more nervous about a potential no show on Wednesday too. Have to admit I was confident about the Chelsea game before today but now I'm not sure. I know we have what it takes to beat them there and I actually think we should, but then again we should have won today also.

I just hope that we put in a good performance on the night.

A point would be decent too. 4 from the next 2 would be very nice imo
