As I have posted before the pundits can't get their heads around the idea of us winning the league but can't really come up with a reason why not so they fall back on the squad strength stuff, if you think about the old, what if they lose Kane and Eriksen line then the answer is, what if we don't? By their logic that would mean we win it surely.
As for Liverpool they are under no pressure whatsoever, they are six points clear and have just pulled away from City so life is good, the pressure comes when they drop points, when the gap is three points not six then they'll know what pressure is, whenever it comes.

They’ll be under some pressure tomorrow should we win as the gap will be down to three points. We just need to do the business.

I hope we play before them every weekend because as we saw with the Leicester season, them playing before us every weekend was definitely an advantage in the pressure stakes.

Probably mate, but I was doubted for my optimism in August and if anything it’s only gotten stronger.
The time is now to back Poch and improve our chances of winning the league, got everything crossed Levy agrees with me.
Nothing wrong with optimism but can you really see us doing any business now when we struggled during the summer, you might have to wait until August before you see anything.

I am actually going to dress up as chunk in support of them.

Ok I'm just going to pull my t shirt over my head and do the truffle shuffle for 90 mins.

Can't believe I want them to win a match it's well weird :woot:

I can live with all 3 outcomes...

Arsenal win - obviously essential to our title hopes
draw - possibly gaining 2 points on liverpool AND scum
Liverpool win - not good for title hopes but possibly 10 points ahead of scum
How Arsenal are doing is of little importance to me, I always think we should be looking up not down. We need them to win at anfield as it puts us in the best position. If Arsenal accumulate enough points to overtake us in the second part of the season it will be a problem with our form

Here's a hard One:
Do we want the Gooners to fluke a win at Liverpool so that if we beat Wolves we'll only be 3 points off the top?
OR
Do we want Liverpool to win so that we might be 10 points ahead of Woolwich?
My vote is for the former.

If Liverpool start dropping points then we are genuinely in a title challenge. That blows everything else out of the water.

Except right at the end of the season, when individual results can have clear implications for the championship, relegation and qualification for the CL/EL, it is always preferable for a match between two close, direct rivals to end in a draw. It gives our competitors 2 points instead of 3 and thus materially improves our chances of success.

The discussion about whether we want Arsenal to lose is meaningless to me. I don't care about Arsenal. I just want Spurs to win.

So sort of going for an each way bet then:)
For the record I'd prefer an Arseanl win all things being equal but I'm not going to lose any sleep over the alternative at this stage of the season.

Got to be hoping for draws for all the rival vs. rival games for now. We don't know what we are going to be fighting for come the end of the season (top 4 or the title) and we don't know which of our rivals is going to have a good or bad run of form between now and then.

It's fantastic to be bullish about challenging for the title but it's of huge importance that we have CL for next season as the first in the new stadium I think. So we just keep pushing for the wins and let the other chips fall where they may.

I like the idea of 3-3 draws for rivals so there is media talk about defensive frailties and middling clubs like Everton and West Ham might have a better shot and taking points from them as well.

Ultimately you just have to wait and see what happens knowing that pretty much any result of a game like that brings some positives.

But obviously, come next week, we would all love to be just 3 points off 1st place, and nobody is really going to give a shit that the scum won a game. If we do our job at the weekend, and they happen to do us a favour, while remaining 7 points below us, then we'll be laughing.

Not getting ahead of myself but in principle, do you want to piss on your enemy's chips so you can snigger at him, or do you want to burn his house down so you can laugh at his tears for months to come... The longer term strategy and bigger goal is what's important.

Exactly! We keep winning, Arsenal's and the other clubs below us results are irrelevant

Need to take care of our own business first.

And if we do it will put the pressure on, genuinely can't wait to see how the next week unfolds.

I was chatting with a gooner friend today and he hopes we win the title in preference to Liverpool. He's moaning about Salah getting nothing from the league over his "dive" yet Emery got a touchline ban. He also thinks they'll lose about 7-0 against 'pool.

Just go out and beat wolves well and convincingly. Another big scoreline would not only put the frighteners on the scousers but it could put a good dent in the goal difference. We need to make every chance count. The stakes are high!

If they’d do their research instead of relying on lazy cliches they could find a reason as we still have to play both City and Liverpool away.

Which is the reason why I think we could give it a good go but will ultimately fall short.

Such a shame we couldn’t have faced both clubs away earlier in the season when we were still rusty from the World Cup.
