It just shows, they have an organised defence, a midfielder who works hard, can break up play and make incisive forward passes and they have direct, aggressive forwards making the opposition defence work hard.

Those 3 things are basics to be a success in the PL and we lack all of them! Hopefully Harry Kane continues to improve and in the summer we sell Ade and Soldado and buy strikers which actually suit the PL!
TBF Mason did well at breaking play up, unfortunately Capoue and the defence didn't have the best of games

Fair points. I don't get this love-in about our performance against City.

I think we showed signs of improvement against Man city in our general but since the AVB days we have become very easy to play against I think.

Hate to say it but West Ham look bloody good.

Defence will crack as the season goes on but Valencia, Song etc have been great signings...

Yep, and I can live with the midfield, it's the least of our issues at present and Mason is looking great.

I think if we had more inventive forward options it would help the whole team as at present the defence have no "out ball" and the forwards occupy the space that people like Eriksen should operate in.

West ham have played well but they are playing a city team who have been to Russia and back. We didn't. Definate European hang over

West. ham creating some really good chances mainly on the break much as we did but dominating? You're watching a different match to me then. Great game to watch though. Should be a lively second half.

I have heard it all now. Commentator just said City are a little thin in the striker positions!

If anything Dzekos getting in Agueros way a bit. But one of them will get an opportunity sooner or later. Next goal vital. I'm starting to sound like a journeyman pundit.

The out ball is overrated imo

Its very useful but you don't need, just taking no chances would of helped our defence. Also the midfield have to work harder, in creating options for player when we are under pressure rather than isolating themselves up top

Ideally yes but we have alot of inexperience in our defence and sometimes the option to clip it long and reposition can be vital.

I wonder how many of our defence errors have been caused by a defender turning back because there is no option.

Those 3 points we nicked here look even sweeter.
Not pretty football at the moment but entertaining-ish

City would be much more dangerous if they take the shackles of Toure. He's just strolling around. Dzeko off Fernandinho on would make them more solid and dangerous IMO.

City finally had them on the ropes a bit there, should've scored.
