Chelsea look terrible. That midfield is appallingly slow and their front three have to be some of the laziest players in the league. Be very surprised if Leicester don’t score again. Already missed some massive chances.

Villa are 11th but if they win their 4 games in hand over Leicester they can go top. Madness

The best thing that could happen from our perspective would be for Chelsea to bring in Avram Grant alongside Lampard as was rumoured a couple of weeks ago. That’d be a slow death for Lampard and could only harm the club.

I don’t remember the last time Leicester wasted money on a signing. Iheanacho hasn’t been great, but he’s a backup. Maybe Papy Mendy? But even he was good in ndidi’s absence. Top scouting network and talent evaluators there.

Can only admire Leicester's recruitment structure.

They clearly look at who they can afford to lose and already have replacements lined up well in advance.

Can they afford to let Mahrez go? Ok, they bring in Barnes.

Can they afford to let Kante go? Ok, they bring in Ndidi.

Can they afford to let Maguire go? Ok, they bring in Soyuncu/Fofana.

Chilwell? Ok, bring in Castagne.

Vardy? Probably not. And they seem to have decided he was irreplaceable because of goals.

But everywhere else they were happy to let players go as long as they got a good fee because they have a system in place and they value/trust the system. No player is bigger than it, which makes it easier to replace players.

When Jose goes, I think we need to adopt a similar approach. I mean players like Kane are completely irreplaceable but Alli, Eriksen etc could have been sold and if the structure was right, we could have seamlessly replaced them.

For example, Grealish could have replaced Eriksen. Maddison could have replaced Alli, we could have replaced Toby.

You don't want to lose your best players but having a good structure allows you to evaluate who could be sold to give your squad better balance/more options and continue without problems.

As mentioned back in August, it was inevitable. Except to people who think football is like FM.

They seem to develop young players well and importantly know when to bring them into the 1st team - Barnes and Justin good examples. Chilwell’s lost hasn’t cost them becoz they just have known Justin could step in. Choudhary looked good a couple of years back as well

Barnes is a youth product :bored: Soyuncu also signed a year before they sold Maguire.

They're not hugely different to anyone else. Remember that they also paid £30m for Ayoze Perez, £20m for Praet, £12.5m on that Welsh liverpool keeper who played twice for them in 6 years, £12.6m on Ghezzal, £13m on Benkovic etc. etc.

They're having a good season - that's pretty much all there is to it.

It’s easy for Lester to act that way when they don’t have an expectant fan base such as ours. Yes they won the league, but the fans don’t expect it again or even expect top 4.

Whereas our team was consistently doing well, our fan base is much more expectant and there would have been uproar is we had sold Dele and Eriksen. Levy would have been vilified.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Villa should just be removed from the PL and all of their previous results declared void for not being able to fulfil a fixture in like a month.

And Grealish given to us as further punishment.

Mate you'd be surprised. I trotted over to their forum around the time they got beaten by Fulham and there were plenty of posters suggesting Brenton's time might be up.

Robert Snodgrass' omission from the West Brom squad beaten at West Ham on Tuesday is being investigated by the Premier League.

The former Scotland midfielder, 33, joined Albion from the Hammers on 8 January for an undisclosed fee, making his debut in Saturday's win at Wolves.
But he missed the West Ham game because of "an agreement between the clubs", West Brom boss Sam Allardyce said.

I reckon if Chelsea went for Brenton he’d go for it. He’d love a chance like that again and I think he used to be a youth coach there or something like that.

That's very true. Im sure we'd have all been upset had we sold Alli or Eriksen when on top.

I think its all in the timing isnt it. Eriksen seems to have made it extremely difficult for us. Clearly had his mind on departing well before he did. Maybe the club should have taken a reduced sale on him as soon as started stalling.
