I really like Andros. He's an intelligent bloke (off the field, at least!) who has great enthusiasm and who bleeds Spurs. I would love him to come really good for us.

But I think that these next 12 games, and maybe next preseason, will determine his future. He has to start delivering consistency and end product. If he can't do so, I suspect that he'll have to find first team football elsewhere.

My thoughts exactly.

He's had loads of opportunity to impress and sometimes he does reasonably well without directly affecting things too much but it gets to a point were you think, where is the end product? There's just a chronic lack of it in truth.

He also doesn't work hard enough off the ball and that affects our high intensity pressing game.

He's very likable and is Spurs through and through so that has afforded him latitude, but it has to start happening sooner or later.

I've always had my doubts but would loved to be proved wrong.

Completely different types of player, and shouldn't effect each other. Pritchard is going to be at No.10 or as wide playmaker type. To me he will be competing with the likes of Eriksen and Lamela.

Townsend is your more direct option who should be competing with Chadli for the inside forward role. Unfortunately though he doesn't seem able to adjust to this. He isn't enough of a box threat, and isn't finding a way to contribute. I think he'd be better playing from the left hand side... I'd certainly like to see it before the end of the season, I'd like to think he'd have more confidence to beat his man and go down the outside, and he could still cut in on his right foot and shoot when needed. Whether we upgrade or not in the summer remains to be seen though.

Honestly, and no disrespect, but it's a dumb question. They're barely comparable at this point. The idea that we're in a situation where we have to choose between them is absurd too. We have no idea how Pritchard will fare in the starting 11 in the Premier League. Have him play 15 games and then we'd be in a position to answer the question.

I assume you mean one or the other or in the first team. Prefer Pritchard though they can both be in squad. Agree with the notion though that Townsend really needs to start improving

Ridiculous question.

ATM, and in no order, we have Eriksen, Lamela, Townsend, Dembele and Chadli at AM, so with Pritchard we have 6 AM's Plenty of room for both

I'd argue that we need to get in a better AM - but that's not a question asked.

IMO HTC is a crap site which I've put on ignore - whoever writes for it knows very little about Spurs players so I can only assume its put forward to get hits on the site and advertising revenue. Or its written by an attention seeker - its really not a serious site for information on Spurs

Time to move on

I'd like to see Pritchard back, mostly to put a bit of pressure on Eriksen. Pretty sure he wouldn't let us down.

I was repeating the question from the article. I agree with your point. That's why the third option is there.

I like Townsend and want him to stay. I haven't seen enough (anything) of Pritchard, though I know he's doing well at Brentford in the Championship.

That, or/as well as the simple fact they're not even remotely the same type of player, nor would they likely even be competing for the same position.

To be honest mate, if we sat here picking apart the various, exhaustive reasons why the question is dugturd we'd have a 1000 page thread.

I voted for the keep both option, Pritchard I haven't seen play but I've heard only good things about him. Townsend will be 24 this year, people we're falling over themselves to get him back when he was at QPR, when he's doing things right, I think he's a good player. I would give him at least another season working with Poch.

This is like asking 'Michel Vorm or Jordan Archer?'

But...I'd like to see Pritchard in our first team squad next year, plus a few others...Holtby, Carroll & maybe 1 or 2 from the development group if possible. I don't see the point in having high profile players on the payroll if they haven't even seen the bench in months
