Has any pundit come out and said it wasn’t a red? Genuine question as I’ve not seen any after talk on the match
Not that I have seen but also MOTD didn’t even show the tackle in the Everton game that left 2 stud makes on Schneidling leg and the bloke only got a yellow

I shouldn't actually be surprised that so many people here don't even know the laws of the game tbh.

Damn right, doubt it will get overturned though but we have grounds to appeal.

Do you reckon the club knows it has grounds to appeal if they've gone through with it, aslong as it doesn't turn into a 3 game ban next season, I'm happy its appealed.

There's no frivolous appeal these days so the ban won't increase if it fails.

Reckon they'll point out the fact that he was provoked and the fact that he pushed Lerma in the shoulder and he dived.

What was interesting to me was that Dermot on ref watch mentioned Son put his hand in Lermas face, which simply didn't happen so based on him trying to invent that it makes me think the ref got it wrong.

Unlike you, you little football expert.

Did the club call you up to get your opinion before they appealed? I assume they ignored your incomparable wisdom on the game.

Refs are going to hate us next year.. I'm sure there'll be a few dead pixels or sun glare on the VAR screens when we play.

My understanding is that Son faces a three match ban for violent conduct. Presumably they will not look to get the red card overturned, but will argue for a one or two match ban. Son certainly deserved the red because that was more than your average push, it was two hands and some serious power (reminded me of Bruce Lee's famous one inch punch :) perhaps Son had some martial arts training as a child). In any case, he was provoked, there was no real danger to Lerma, and he didn't come close to his face. I think it is worth an appeal and while I won't hold my breath, I could see it being reduced to a two match ban for example. Don't really mind now in any case, he is not needed on Sunday and gives us extra incentive to buy some players in the summer if he misses a few games next season.

Well if it's a 2 match ban he'll only miss 1 game next season :D

It's a clear red card by the letter of the law, I know it's difficult for you, but there's really no need to be such a massive fucking prick about it tbh.

Think it's worth appealing to show it was after provokation and overacting, if anything it could help put focus on Lerma who deserves a ban himself. Red was ok in my opinion, but getting it down to 1 game and not have a ban into next season would be a success.

I think it depends if they see pushing as violent conduct, I'd say likely excessive force will be what the F.A apply but spurs can argue the reaction of Lerma exaggerating the force. Typically violent conduct is involving either something to do with the face/head or an Elbow, Punch, Stamp. Pushes rarely get a red card unless you push somebody in the face.
