Changing the subject - did anyone else think that after all the hype about us having a much better chance against Ajax with Son in the team, he failed to show up?

All I really recall was 2 early chances then he spent the rest of the match running into dead ends around the outside of the box.
Even Tripps offered more in the 2nd half.

Give him a break. He has carried the team far and hard enough.
It was a reply to the post above mine about his recent form.

I’m not sure he’s carried the team though. He’s had good form this season where he’s helped out loads but so has Kane and Lucas.

It’s been a real squad effort this season imo

It's the manner in which the player reacted which sealed his fate...went down like a tree and the ref didn't see Son's push so assumed wrongly it was quite violent. Another case for using VAR.....prior to issuing a straight red...(y)

That is why the ref should NOT have shown a red! If he didn't clearly see the incident he shouldn't assume what had happened, very poor refereeing!! It's also an absolute joke that the FA have rejected the appeal, fucking farcical!!!

The reputation of British/English refs have really taken a strong dent over the last few years. Like, fex, they used to be seen as fairly unbiased but since the Fergie area it's getting worse.
One of the few things that have remained consistent though is the "decision" by refs to give Spurs as few "favorable decisions" as possible.
And, again, NO those bad decisions does NOT even out during the season.

Son has really been far to inconsistent imo . Against Ajax he didn’t get going . The whisper going around that we are better without Kane really has to stop right now. There absolutely no reason why Kane Son Moura Alli Eriksen can’t all play effectively together. The key for this to work is for Son especially to step up another gear with Kane being smart enough to drop into pocket ie Sheringham and Dele Alli then to being allowed to break beyond .

I agree that the team is not better without him but whenever your main target man is missing there is a need to improvise. Being able to do that successfully gives Poch a lot less headaches. The team has shown that they are perfectly capable of doing just that and we no longer "fear" a Harry Kane injury like we used to.
