So Brighton had at least as many players ruled out as we did. No excuses there then….
And Richarlison was our only player who even looked like scoring .

He has been very productive at home this season. We have played nine home games so far and here is what he has achieved-
Man Utd- Started. Played 70 mins No goals or assists
Sheff Utd- On as sub 80th min -Goal and assist
Liverpool- Started. Played 90 mins -Assist
Fulham- Started. Played 81 mins- Assist
Chelsea- Unused sub
Villa- Not in squad after operation

West Ham- On as sub 67th minute- no goal or assist
Newcastle- Started. Played 73 mins- Two goals
Everton- Started. Played 63 mins- Goal

So that's four goals and three assists in seven matches of which he has played only one entire game which I think is a brilliant return. Here's hoping he can continue that home profitability tomorrow.

Unbelievable work rate today. Would love to see how much distance he covered as he was relentless with his pressing and running. Happy that he got another goal and he really looks like he's over his injury.

He’s been looking good for a few weeks now. Getting the goals to back that up.

Totally agree. Glad he got the goal after the miss, great to see him doing well.

Richy is also our lucky charm at home, surprisingly, having won 12 games and drawn 1 in 13 starts.

Wrote the above ahead of the Fulham game. Since that post...

Richarlison started:
Fulham - WON
Newcastle - WON

Richarlison did not start:
Chelsea -
LOST
Villa - LOST
West Ham - LOST

Updated record - 15 starts, 14 wins, 1 draw.
After wins against Everton and Bournemouth, Richarlison now has a home record of 17 starts, 16 wins, 1 draw.

His finishing is always going to be a bit hit and miss but if he works as hard as he did today then it's alright by me.

Excellent today but that big chance he missed still makes me doubt he will ever be clinical enough
You have to realise that he isn’t ever going to be as clinical as Son, Kane, Bale. However that doesn’t mean he wont net contribute overall. We have just had the pleasure of watching some of the best finishers of all time for the past 10 years

Looks great on the one touch finishes. I guess on his miss there is a chance the ball held up a fraction on the wet surface which is why he scuffed the kick. But I like that he's now confident and at ease in the shirt as you see him leading the line with real determination and quality.

Lovely finish again. What’s that for the season now? 6 in the league? If he can get to 15 it’ll be a great contribution considering the matches missed. Need him to stay fit and confident

We went into December wondering whether we needed a striker in January.

I think Richy's form suggests we can certainly wait until the Summer before making that call, and if he carries on as he's doing then it won't be a priority at all.

Bit of a conundrum now if a big Saudi big comes in. Would we deal now based on his recent form? Goals are hard to come by in this league, so stick with what you know or gamble on someone from a different league? Think I’d be inclined to keep Richy on recent form.
