Just my opinion, but I think Richarlison is more than a "solid PL forward". Ashley Barnes is a solid PL forward. Richarlison has been excellent for years in a shit Everton side that's constantly changing managers.
Tbf, they've only had a couple more then us since Martinez! Not that it's relevant.

I forgot what the point of my comment was now, must be the drink.

So, Richarlison...

He’d be a good fit as a back up but if 50-60 mil is the ball park that seems very steep to me! Should be buying first team players for that not back up’s.

We need to get away from this idea he'd be backup. We want a forward who'll compete to start. With 5 subs and four competitions there'll be plenty of opportunity.

As someone pointed out in comments, £39m plus winks and the £39m is evertons.
Push that to £40m and winks then Everton only receive £36m cash.

also with winks thrown in for ‘free’ then they also won’t have a 20m negative coming out there balance
No, this isn't right. Watford will get 10% of any profit Everton make on Richarlison on sale fee of 40m, i.e. If he was sold for 60m, Watford would get 10% of the difference between 40m and 60m, £2m total fee.

He’s not good enough to compete with what we have to get in the stating 11 for big games.
Decent back up option though, I like him but not for 50-60 million!

Of course he's good enough to compete with Kulusevski, and even Son and Kane go through patches of poor form.

I love these articles. They have 5 days to sell someone for big money but they will only sell at an inflated price north of £50m. Its highly unlikely that both things occur.

It doesn't matter what they paid for him. They still get the £50m income in this years accounts based for FFP purposes. His book value must be quite low now having been there a few years.

They aren't owed the luxury of making a big profit on him when they need funds fast because they screwed themselves for FFP with years of terrible business. Sometimes you have to sell the family silver.

You know, upon watching a couple Richarlison YouTube compilations, I'm warming to him. He has flair moments, a la Raphinha (whom I love), but combines that with true hold-up strength and quite a bit of shithousery.

I think I underestimated his skill because he plays for a such a shit Everton side. I think I see what Conte is up to now.

100% this. They don’t have very many saleable assets. Calvert-lewin, richarlison and a punt on gordon. Out of those richarlison is probably the easiest to sell at a decent fee and easiest to replace. Everton don’t have two months to play this out, they only have a week, so lets see who buckles first or if chelsea jump in, but that is looking less likely.

all the more reason for Everton to do a Winks swap with it to keep the fee down.
From what i gather in terms of their books, richarlison has to go by the end of this month and winks would go into their books next month, but i suspect they will take a loan with a buy option/obligation.

I guess their plan is to set the stall out high so they eventually agree on a realistic and not cut price fee. On this market I'd say that's about £50m.
