I agree with you, Im just saying in those friendlies he was bustled off the ball a few times quite easily. He came on against Juventus and he struggled a little physically. No shame in that though, he's still a kid after all.

When Lennon first came onto the scene he was immense, I'd say he never fulfilled his potential. Lets hope Edwards has a bit of a better attitude about him.

Yeah he was but it didn't deter him he got back up each time and kept doing what he does. The game these days is skewed towards attacking talent in that with the exception of thugs like Charlie Adam opponents can't get away with putting reducers in. They'll look to bring him down outside the box but that will result in yellow cards and I doubt they'd dare touch of inside the box. In those friendlies he looked ready to be able to influence games once they open up. Starting in the prem with our brand of attrition football might be a few years away for him until he does bulk up a little as you say.

The young Lennon was the ultimate bums off seats player, he was so exciting particularly since we spent the past decade largely watching older slower pros at the end of their careers. What might have been if he was more professional and had a coach like Poch to develop him.

Remember when Lennon came onto the scene. Was electic, such a shame he was a party boy

Then Sterling arrived at Liverpool and thought he was everything Lennon hadn't turned into

Then Sterling plateaued and hasn't/won't fulfil his potential

Let's hope Marcus Edwards has the Danny Rose mentality

My impression is that this squad is a close group and they have the right mentality. If that is the case then it should set a good example to the younger lads, including Marcus, and that can only be good for them. If they get the right attitiude at a young age then the sky is the limit.

Don't see why he can't get on the bench.

Against Sunderland we had 3 defenders, a pub striker & a bulldozer on the bench, it might be nice to add the option of a little craft for when we have zero answers for the opposition.

i just hope he would not be abused like onomah if he does not perform well for the first team

U mean like Kane, Rose, Carroll, Winks, Walker and our other young English talent got abused? lol don't be daft. Oh and I'm old enough to remember a good few people trying King off in his early years.

Still think he has a big part to play in our season

This one?

Why not? Against Sunderland, we had Janssen and Sissoko to choose from to change the game. Poch is so impressed with Janssen that he left it to 85mins before he could bring himself to use the player. If Edwards had been on the bench, I doubt whether Janssen would have had a look in. If Edwards is half as good as some here are making out (I've no idea personally) then he could make a real difference in tight games.

Hopefully Lamela will be back soon to add that option, but I agree that if Erik remains out it would be good to have someone like Edwards on the bench to offer something different.

Sissoko is supposed to do that, but he is very hit and miss.
