I'd very much prefer we sent him out on loan for the remainder of the season. He needs game time and we can evaluate the situation again in the summer

I'd rather see what minutes he could get for us for the rest of the season than watch him get kicked about for some championship cloggers...

He's not been training with the main group long so will still be learning loads in training.

Keep him for the remainder of this season, then evaluate in the summer.

If he makes some sub appearances for us, impresses, and gets some hype, it could actually prove helpful if he went out on loan next season as while opponents would know more about him, they may be unwilling to give a kicking to England's newest youth prodigy because they would get criticised (as long as we didnt send him to Scotland).

I think Poch will keep him at the club though.

I think Europa League or 4th round of the fa cup could be a good chance for him, shame he wasn't on the bench yesterday but maybe he hasn't been back in training long enough. Also there were a lot of fringe players that needed minutes.

Apparently after recovering form his initial injury he then had his tonsils taken out. I think he has been training though

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts getting mins off the bench like Onomah

His close control will win free kicks and even penalties and he likely to create a chance or two

I suspect he'd be a better impact sub than Onomah at the moment as Poch seems to like to bring Onomah on in a position that is more natural for Edwards who may subsequently stand a better chance of actually making an impact with those opportunities

As shown with Winks, if Poch likes you then he doesn't send you out on loan. I expect that once he starts training with the first team again he will start to make appearances on the bench.

I think he will need to get physically stronger first. In the summer's preseason friendliest he was getting knocked off the ball quie easily by bigger opponents.

Edit: those hitting disagree obviously didn't watch the Juventus game.

He'll win loads of free kicks. If he can come on late in games once they've opened up the he'll scare the shit out of defenders. It's one thing defenders hate, small players with low centres of gravity running them at them.

When Lennon first burst onto the scene he looked like a little kid playing against men but he caused absolute havoc. Now I know Edwards doesn't have the pace and acceleration of the young Lennon, few players do, but he has much better close control and end product and the ball looks glued to his foot. And he's fast enough with decent enough acceleration. With the exuberance of youth he'll be a very difficult proposition for defenders unless they resort to fouling him.

GKN is looking like a potential game changer from the bench and I hope Edward gets the chance to do the same this season. I don't see his size as a hindrance if anything it can be an asset provided he is using the correct circumstances.

I agree with you, Im just saying in those friendlies he was bustled off the ball a few times quite easily. He came on against Juventus and he struggled a little physically. No shame in that though, he's still a kid after all.

When Lennon first came onto the scene he was immense, I'd say he never fulfilled his potential. Lets hope Edwards has a bit of a better attitude about him.

Remember when Lennon came onto the scene. Was electic, such a shame he was a party boy

Then Sterling arrived at Liverpool and thought he was everything Lennon hadn't turned into

Then Sterling plateaued and hasn't/won't fulfil his potential

Let's hope Marcus Edwards has the Danny Rose mentality
