I can imagine that in several years FIFA will change their stance on the contract suspending for Ukraine-based players))))

Isnt he similar to Gill?

No he's right footed left winger that can cut inside. Which most managers prefer.
Bryan is very left footed who says he prefer to play on the left, but for us probably have to become either a no 10 or a RW.
The two will not be the same tool for a manager.

Jesus there are some shit takes in here 😂 This guy is a quality player. If you want a technical dribbler in the squad this guy is exactly that. It really is at the point where people just want to moan for the sake of it. He would be an amazing option off the bench and in Europe/cup games

We won't stop buying "club signings" neither, it's really not anything wrong with it as long as it's done right.
Key is knowing what we want to be as a team, hire managers and recruitment team that are in agreement with what we need.
If we continue to jump back and forward between back 3 / 4 manager, from one that need creative midfielders to one that don't want to play with any -
then we'd (still) have a problem.

It’s not moaning for the sake of it. Some have differing views to others and have backed them up with a reasonable argument. And again, Not one person has said he isnt a quality player

I haven't watched much of him but if he's that good how can he only get 1 start for Fulham in their last 9 games?

Screams nothing but cheap and opportunistic. What would he offer that Richarlison & Gil can't?

That’s irrelevant, my point was that they are now worthless because they were not required by the manager at the time. We are now signing a player who has not been ok’d by our new management team and he may not rate the player or fit into his system
It’s decidedly not irrelevant when it comes to making a profit.

I don’t know why but it’s nothing to do with his quality as a player, that’s for sure. Was scoring important goals and dangerous on the ball constantly when he was playing. He’s exactly what people would refer to as a “Tottenham player” highly technical, very agile and a good burst of speed, on top of that he was showing good end product at this level too. If we sign him I’ll be very happy with it, he’d be an excellent option off the bench and to start in European/cup games because of his huge ability to beat players. He’d offer something very different to what we currently have. Obviously he’s not “free” because of wages, signing fee etc etc but I’d still be pretty content with it even if we paid a fee, he’s a good player. I’ve seen some people suggesting they’d sooner play Gil who is 6 months younger and nowhere near as good

But most have complained that it should be about the team not profit. There has not been enough focus on a structure to identitying players that fit the requirements of the current manager. We’ve lurched from manager to manager accumulating players that no one wants and many came with glowing reputation. So fine make £10-15m on Solomon but what about the millions and millions lost on others not used by managers?
I haven’t said he’s not a good player just that we should be signing players we know our manager wants and will use.

The post I was replying to was your reply to a post about selling him next year for a profit if he’s unwanted, mate.

We’re not making any money on our deadwood but most of them are worth something. This guy will also be worth something in a year’s time.

We can keep throwing this around all day and still disagree. I really hope he works out and becomes a valued and useful member of our squad when we eventually hire a manager 👍

Then we sell him in a year for pure profit.

He is a highly rated player within Europe. Some big clubs have been tracking him for a while including us and Scum.

I agree we’re in a nuts position with no DoF or Manager but we still have a recruitment team. What do we do? Stop scouting? Stop exploring transfers? Put every operation at the club on hold? If we do that and don’t get a DoF until Mid June, we will be so far behind the transfer window plans of other teams we will be fucked.
Yay because that’s worked so well for some of our other players we can’t shift.

It’s not just about Solomon tho. What would you do with Gil, a player who we spent a good amount on and one that is finally developing now that he’s playing regularly? Now I know both can play on the right but both are most comfortable on the left. We will need to get a player who naturally plays on the right regardless.

Also what if we get a manager who likes his wing forwards to create like Conte did. Solomon whilst being good one Vs one and as a finisher doesn’t have great vision and his chance creation really isn’t a strong suit which is also why one wouldn’t particularly want to play him as an AM.

Thing is, I’d be 100% behind getting him if I felt he was part of an overall plan. He looks a promising player who excels in certain areas, is only 23 and he’s on a free, I get it. But I also don’t think we should be stockpiling players and if we got him we would have 3 (Son, Gil and Solomon) who all play best on the left and also Richy who also can play there. Now if we sold Gil or Son then it would make much more sense but I think that would be a really silly move without a manager to work with them first.

So what you’re effectively saying is that we should never buy a highly rated player again🤦🏼‍♂️
Absolutely not and never even hinted at that. If you read my other posts in this thread you will read what I think rather then the line that you have selected which clearly suits your argument

Fcuk me, this place is toxic, you post a view that differs from some in a fare way backed with reasonable rational and some people without bothering to read your words just want a rumble. Think it’s time to take a break from here

Not sure how my comment on your post can been seen as arguing but each to their own. Someone said he was highly rated and you replied so were N’Dom and LoCelso and now they’re worthless! That implies we shouldn’t sign anyone else that’s rated.

The problem is, Gil very much plays as a wide winger on the left, which basically doesn’t fit with almost any playing style now unless we get a manager who plays a 442 old school system.

Nearly every manager now wants wide players inverted and capable of scoring goals and attacking the box, which simply doesn’t fit with playing Gil on the left.

I like Bryan but he’s either got to adapt to playing from the right (and add goal threat/seeking the goal more) or he’s got to move to a club who play with old school wide wingers.

Richarlison doesn’t have the technical ability or speed to play as a wing forward either imo.

So we’re actually desperately in need of a player who can play from the left and who is a good dribbler and can cut in to score goals.
