I hope not. This guy looks capable of goals and assists, something Dembele struggled with and if anyone doesn’t believe me, feel free to check. As fine a player as he was, how Dembele got such a cult status on SC continues to baffle me :D

In fairness to us, when every player here that played with him says that he was the best player that they've ever played with, I don't think we're all morons for thinking he was pretty sexual.

I mean, we are all morons, which goes without saying, but not specifically because of that.

:D nice post

I must admit, seeing him beat the same player three times before checking back, looking wide and passing it square straight to an opposing player can be mesmerising ;)

I’m not saying he wasn’t a good player, but for me, a lot more style than substance. Put end product in there and that’s a lot different……I don’t think he delivered anywhere near what he could have. If I were picking all time best spurs teams, I’d have to pick about 15 teams before he got in one 😁

If Dembele had end product to go with his other considerable skills he would have most likely been playing for Real Madrid.

Dembele was mesmeric at what he did but I do agree that he was shit in the final third, especially when considering he started out as a striker.
He was an amazing player to watch though and was incredibly important to the rest of the team in the way he broke the press, kept possession and moved the ball through the midfield.

Yes, he could have been more productive individually but what he did gave others around him the space and time to do that instead.

He was what he was, never a great goal scorer or even assister but what he did, he was fucking brilliant at.
That's why he has so much respect from both players and fans.

See my subsequent post where I add Bale, Modric and Eriksen in to the player Mixotron 5000 and conjure up the player of all our dreams.

I would add that this machine removes all tendencies and predilections for injuries from the constituent parts.

This Mixotron 5000. You made that up didn't you ;)

I'm going to stop now because this isn't the place for it plus I might have upset the SC massive :wacky:

But seriously, the kid hasn’t even played for us yet and the thread is already derailed with Dembele talk, just you wait till A&C sees that you’re spamming the thread… oh wait…

It's so weird but this transfer has brought out the kid in me again, I can't remember the last signing that made me feel like this. Maybe Davids or Modric.

For some reason this one just feels different, like the beginning of something.

This signing, regardless of the kids age is a statement signing. It's absolutely fantastic to see that our fantastic football club is being seen as a fantastic football club from people with no bias towards it.

A young man from Romania choosing us over Bayern was a massive moment but can also been seen as a logical move if Bayern moved very late.... this one is Barcelona and this kid looks like an absolute gem. Its a big move and makes it Man U, Bayern and Barca all pipped but us this window. My waters feel extremely settled with this new breed of talent to take over the reigns from the Vertonghen, Toby and Mousa era.

The new Tottenham has started now and as Lucas says, it feels like a new era

You're getting an 'off-topic' for this.

Just to make you aware.
