So with JN, of our CBs the only survivors would be Rodon, Tanganga and Sanchez by the sounds of it

Which is fine by me, personally. Toby was once great but is slowly declining and Dier just doesn’t belong at the level we require

Not his best game but outside of Skipp, most of the the England U21 team didn't have any outstanding performances. Still happy he got some more minutes and did not get injured. I would start him vs Newcastle.

I really like Japhet and think this is a learning curve before moving centrally.
Also, I really like Mukiele at RB Leipzig, he too plays right back, but I think he will also move to CB. Big strong and good on the ball.
In the summer I’d be tempted to move on Aurier, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez, & Toby, to bring in Aarons, Mukiele, and Mings.
If not for being a left footed CB T Mings is a terrible defender. LCB though are a dime a dozen so he seems to get a pass... For all the slating Sanchez gets ( the majority unjust) Mings would be crucified here.

I didn't watch all of it, but from the bits I saw he was ok.
Gave away a couple of soft fouls.
Nothing he could do about the goal.

Was awful, not his usual strong assured performance. Probably the typical England going out of a major tournament hangover.

Looked like a league one player awful, can see why he hasn’t been trusted at Centre half if he can’t get defending right out there.

Positionally awful, don’t think he helped Sanchez either who seemed to be stuck either trying to cover him or thinking what’s he doing.

There is a player there, somewhere. Don't think it is helping him being shit scared to make a mistake. Coached by fear

Solid performance from him today. A little bit over-zealous with some of his challenges but you can tell he was eager to impress. The more I see him at RB, the more natural he looks in the role. I only hope the new manager has faith in him and gives him more opportunities to play.

Just can’t make my mind up about him.
Seems to lose concentration and make silly positional mistakes but he has the strength and speed to succeed. Next season is make or break for him I feel and a lot might depend on what happens with Foyth and Aurier.

Like what I see with Japhet. Some good signs for the future as he matures, even if he’s raw around the edges

Reads the game well, positionally good, strong on the ball and decent in the air with good control, pace and power

can imagine him shifting centrally in a year or two and bossing it alongside someone more experience

if he can stay injury free can see him being a mainstay for years
