If it is two months he'll miss around 10-12 games and would be looking at being back around the Southampton game.

Another source saying it could be three months. It's a real blow but we will manage without him - we have a strong squad.

I'd happily take a return to full fitness in 3 months, that would bring him back in to the fold for our last 5/6 league games (3 of which are United, West Ham and Arsenal). If we're still up at the top by then I'd be very pleased.

I figured it would be something along the lines of 8-12 weeks when I saw it happen, so three months wouldn't surprise me at all. I also agree about having him back for the run in, but if we're still in the hunt at that time it'd be hard to drop whoever filled in, as they must have played fairly well to that point.

The Guardian says up to 2 months, which could mean 6 weeks, so I'm gonna go with them. Unless Toby gets injured I don't think it will be a major issue for us. The most important thing is what's in front of the back 3 - Wanyama and Dembele.

Great, one of our absolutely best players this season, easily top three five performing player, is out for what is the most crucial part of the season. We are breathing down the neck of some pub team from a London suburb and have otherwise parked and surpassed sizeable teams, and this happens. It's like the Sandro disaster of 2012 all over again. Yes, we've got this and that player to cover, but to act like our season moving forward didn't became just a tad bit gloomier after this is simply folly.

6-8 weeks would be a result as far as I'm concerned. That would mean he'd back well before the run in and match fit by the time it comes around as well.

I was fearing we wouldn't see him again this season.

I think Wimmer can step up like he did last time Jan got injured but I think we have to expect a few more goals slipping through. I just hope we can keep our attackers fit because we may need to score some extra goals to make up for the weaker defense.

I think the big question is more whether we go back to a 4 at the back or continue with 3

Three at the back works so well for us unless it's for tactical reasons why change it.
I like 3 at the back too but just wondering if we'll go back to a 4 now and get Sissoko or Son on instead. 4 at the back has also worked well for us to be fair.

As much as I think we've got the players to step in and cope here, this is going to be a big blow for us. Jan is top class.

Yes both systems work well just shows how tactically flexible and aware Poch and the players are, as fans we are lucky that something special is taking place right here and now in this part of North London.

One thing he is outstanding on this season is arial duels. There is nobody in the squad as effective in the air as him this season. Not long ago he won 11 arial duels in one single match, and he frequently wins as many or more as the 10 other Spurs players on the pitch put together. I'm not criticising Wimmer's performance last time, but this time, he is deputising for a far stronger CB, and I can only expect the gap to be noticeable.
