Do you see anybody complaining that the Levy haters aren’t neg telling stoof the way they would me or Lighty for defending him? No, because it’s a ridiculous, pathetic thing to whinge about.
To be fair in the whole scheme of things the majority of discussions fall into this category when it comes to football (not just spurs) related matters/conversations. Makes it more interesting and entertaining though when opinions are divided. My grandad used to hate Alan Shearers one arm in the air goal celebration...irrelevant to practically everyone but my word did it rile him!
Crap comparison I know

We could always just ban Twitter completely. I remember when Twitter first became a thing and we had a thread debating wether or not to allow it. I was pretty much the only person who argued against it. You all got your way. Suffer bitches :D
We actually had a thread devoted to Twitter if I remember correctly.

Can I just ask @Archibald&Crooks is this okay? If it is then fair play and I apologise for calling @Yiddo1982 a ****.
Fuck me, take a swig of calpol and move on :D

And no, its not alright. You'll probably get banned for calling someone a ****.

If anyone feels they've been abused, use the report post function and when they have time, one of the mods will deal with it if they feel the rules have been broken. Don't tag me, the 999 other things I have to do will result in a delay.

Sure, a fair price. What is a fair price for Lo Celso though? Is it the €75m Betis are reportedly after? I'd say not.

Who says what they are 'reportedly after' is what they will actually accept? We have no idea what a 'fair price' is, but you'd hope that the club would have thought about that before making an offer in the first place.

Long and the short of it is Betis are doing a Daniel Levy on Daniel Levy, who knows what will happen.

Don't think anyone posted this? From Mundo Deportivo journo so they are definitely reporting this.

Tottenham formalizes the signing of Giovani lo Celso, for which he will pay Betis the not insignificant figure of 55 million pounds sterling (about 60.25 million euros). The club that trains Rubi does a great deal (nefarious PSG) but loses an excellent player.

The scenario that really warrants further discussion is the following: we don't sign Lo Celso, the transfer deadline passes, and Real Madrid immediately come in for Eriksen with Levy having no time to buy a replacement and having no leverage over the player. Eriksen will be unsettled and agitating for the move (which would have an impact on our ability to play him in the August matches), and Levy will have a choice to get some money for him or lose him for nothing next summer. With Alderweireld almost certainly leaving then next summer on a free transfer, would Levy be okay letting Eriksen walk, too, and missing out on 80+ million pounds of player fees? How fuming would that leave Pochettino and would the squad finish top 4 if we sold Eriksen and signed no one else?

I hope it doesn't come to that, and I suspect Madrid will be in for Eriksen whether we sign Lo Celso or not, given how awful they've been in pre-season, and with Pogba being unattainable. But it's something I hope the club is thinking about, absent serious movement in a new contract with Eriksen.
I was hoping NDombele's arrival and ZZ's apparent lack of enthusiasm for CE would cause Christian to change his mind about leaving. All those PL-leading stats - for chances created, assists, ground covered, etc - look near impossible for any replacement to replicate let alone improve upon. Has any Spurs player been the league's most dangerous, effective playmaker for such an extended spell? I would be much more comforted seeing Christian sign a new deal than having to replace him with Lo Celso (a player who doesn't seem to have excited any interest from the big boys). I imagine Poch would be too.

Not fussed about banning twitter but think the phrase 'Nut Sacks' appearing in peoples posts would amuse me sufficiently especially when picturing newcomers keep trying to edit their post back to Ricky in a state of genuine bemusement

Fair point. But only if you are looking to sell your left nad. Presumably you are not to looking to sell your left nad therefore only a grossly inflated offer relative to other left nads available on the market would convince you to part ways with it -I assume.

Potentially, but in this case Betis are looking to sell, in fact their own coach publicly admitted they needed to. Therefore, there is no sense in making a grossly inflated offer, because if they don’t sell to us by our deadline day, they’ll only be left with European sides who can’t even match our ‘lowball’ offer.

I’m with your pap pap on that one!

I take no issue with differing opinions, even when I consider those opinions opposite to mine to be wholly incorrect. It’s just frustrating to see what I assume are grown men and women resorting to childish snide remarks and put downs on people who just want the same thing they do in the first place. Healthy debate, and even a good argument, is one thing, but the personal attacks in this place are, well, just shit really.

My question is, are the press far enough behind that this could be them getting wind of the agreed fees which have now been reneged on?

Translation is about right, but I think more accurately in that context it would be "unlucky PSG", which makes more sense. Not 100% sure though.

I take your “we have quality and we have depth” and raise you the end of last season when our league form disintegrated before our eyes due to fatigue and injuries, despite some extraordinary heroics in the CL.

We got lucky, again......in the PL, only because of the ineptitude of our closest rivals.

Without player investment, that luck will run out and players or Poch will get fed up with the broken promises. Then we will have problems.

You’d have to say a lot of our fatigue and injuries came from an extraordinary summer prior to the seasons start.
We didn’t really have a pre-season and it would be very unfortunate to have anything like the levels of injuries we had again this season.

I’d also strongly disagree that you can get lucky where you finish in the league.

Hopefully we can seal the deal with GLC and anything beyond that would be a bonus as far as I’m concerned
