And i think Lo Celso will be happy with either destination and, dare i say it, probably sees himself at a bigger club like Atletico in any case

I’m confused about these 18/20m valuations? This is not an N’Dombele situation.

He’s a good player who consistently performs for Argentina. He was good for us too once under Jose let’s not forget. Yeah it hasn’t worked out since & it’s time to move on but this guy is worth 30m easily.

And so do the club. Hence why the 15/20 bids have been rejected.

He was a key player for them on a CL semi final run on top of all that.

Absolutely embarrassing offer if the €18m was true. They probably wouldn't sell us their backup left back for that amount.

Europe is broke. Villareal has some money but they really are a small club in a small town that has just been run extremely well for 15 years or so.

Said this before a few times but only 10 clubs in Europe (not the UK) will have the ability to spend 30m on a player. We might have to take what we can get.

He's only worth what another club is willing to pay for him. I haven't checked the stats, but I doubt many clubs outside the obvious big ones (Juve, Inter, Bayern, Barca, 2 x Madrid etc) buy players from the PL for big money.

Probably not, because there's an exchange rate when it comes to PL v everywhere else.

The PL has vastly more money than any other league and so pays a premium when buying. And when selling outside the PL, often has to settle for less than they want.

They could well be selling Pau Torres for €50m this season plus others. I stand by it being a lowball offer.

Does seem like most European clubs are on their knees financially post covid though I'd agree.

Right, but clubs like Villarreal usually have to sell high and buy low just to exist; that's their business model. They don't sell for £50m and go spend it all on a replacement.

they either make an offer that satisfies Levy/Paratici or they won't have Lo Celso, simple as that

Not €50m but certainly more than €18m for such a key signing. Something like €25m sounds pretty reasonable for a player that has been excellent in la liga.

Can only go by the reported fees we paid for Bentancur & Bissouma but I really think valuations have to be downgraded on players we are trying to sell like Lo Celso & Berwijn. not to mention a monster loss on Ndombele, especially if we are dealing with clubs far below the financial size of Spurs.

We'll see. Would make him their record signing. They've only paid more than £20m twice in their history.

I think Giovani Lo Celso is worth as much to them as a prospective signing than Danjuma to be honest. We should be getting at least what they paid for him IMHO. He is as sure bet a signing as they could make. If anything that list makes me more convinced that £15m (€18m) was a poor offer from them.

He's a player, for me, who has never been played in his best position. He played one game as an attacking midfielder albeit against awful opposition last season and he was excellent.

Even if that's the case he doesn't fit either 343 or 352 and I agree with Conte that he's too lightweight for the league. He's much better suited to La Liga and we could use the money to boost our budget for incomings.

He's too lightweight for our CM2, and he's nowhere near creative or attacking enough to switch formation and go 352 (ALA Eriksen). In short, he's never really been played in his best position for us because he doesn't really have a best position for us. Spain is a much more natural fit for him.

Get what you and others say. I just wonder what Conte could do with him if Lo Celso was committed to the cause.
