I'd usually agree but the fee wanted is unrealistic, they already have a very good right wing back in Jones, the player has no interest in being there and Wilder has publicly stated he wants it resolved quickly, as it probably affects his transfer dealings with that money coming in.

So Gibson is actually doing the opposite and being greedy.

Some other names that have come out in the press are Clauss from Lens (29 y/o late bloomer with incredible stats), Dodo from Shakhtar and Maehle from Atalanta. I'm sure there are plenty of others under the radar too.

I have no idea where Gibson goes with this. He has a player who wants to leave, they don't want and nobody else is paying more than what we've offered. I think I tend to agree with the Boro itk saying he's going to sign this week. Him appearing for pre season is just to show how he fought hard for his fee. It will just be spun that Gibson got the fee he wanted but it will be the fee that was already on the table.
