Yeah after further digging, Transfermarkt has both Sanchez and Benoit Badiashile right around the same current value, both with two years remaining on their deals. I'd imagine Sanchez possibly makes a bit more to Badiashile. But in terms of value, that's as equal as a swap that could be done.

I would hate to lose Sanchez as I actually thought last season he was very good for us, thinks he provides great cover on the right hand side. However, we all know LCBs are more rare and I could see a scenario where Badiashile is attainable through Sanchez going the other way, with us using our funds to find another CB that can cover right and possibly even centrally.

Badiashile ticks a lot of boxes too. Left footed, 6'4", strong and comfortable on the ball. Not as expansive on the ball as a Bastoni or Torres but could develop into an absolute beast of a defender in the VVD mould.

For sure! According to FBref he does actually play more progressive passes compared to Torres and Bastoni, but you'd hope he can keep growing in the sense of passing/dribbling out of the LCB slot but Monaco seemed to play 4atb quite frequently last season

I think a young CB in that spot would also mean that Davies still has a part to play which frankly he has earnt.

Did Monaco get in the CL?

Just wondering if Davinson would actually be interested in going there anyway.

I'm happy if he wants to stay. Was excellent for us in the run in. Had a very good season whenever called upon really.

Just been watching some vids of badiashile, looks mustard. Him for sanchez and bring in bremner too, feels a (I don't know how I'm aying this)..realistic.. Option(/dream!)

Think he's a really good prospect. Much as I like Sanchez, I think Badiashile would be a very useful signing being a LCB, but Monaco aren't exactly short of money right now. I also think Lenglet could well be an inspired signing if Conte could rebuild his confidence. He lost that playing in a back 4 for Barca when they were generally very poor, and he carried the can way more than was fair.

An important factor in the situation for me personally too is that Colombia is not in the 2022 world cup while the likes of Davies, a few linked LCBs, Dier, Romero, and Rodon all have chances or are likely to go to the tournament.

Having a PL proven player like Sanchez available, healthy, and not overplayed will really come in handy throughout the year. Again, there are other options we can sign to replace his part of the squad that could be in the same boat but just a note I have around Sanchez's situation.
Agree I wouldn't sell him.... what to just go buy another PL bench warmer? I wouldn't sell. Love Sanchez

I think he'll do well for us while Romero is out. Obviously the West Ham and CIty games will require our best but I feel that we're much stronger mentally this season and I'm not as worried as I would've been about Davinson stepping into that RCB position.

Our defensive record will be probably the same with him instead of Romero, our build-up will get a lot worse though, but maybe we should focus our left side more then, especially if Perisic gets to start games.

His build-up play is terrible though.

But tbf it's not as much of an issue when he's on the right side.

Weirdly enough, I kinda want to see Doherty play vs Wolves or NF. It looked like him and Deki were forming quite a good relationship towards the end of last season and would definitely help with Sanchez ineffective build up play on that right side.

Big Dave will do just fine. My only concern now is depth, especially with Lenglet out too.

Might be ok against wolves this weekend . But wouldn’t want him against Haaland and co in a a few weeks time. Luckily our fixtures up to then, bar West Ham away are pretty favourable.

hopefully lenglet is fit to be with the 1st team again and we sign a top central defender before the window shuts

There's a feel-good factor about the club at the moment but let's not rewrite history. Sanchez is average at best in almost every department. When Romero isn't playing it'll be a case of getting through it rather than Sanchez offering much.

Sanchez was clearly told to play a different type of game than under any other coach for us. When he came into the team last year he was super aggressive and it seemed to suit him more. He is a big strong tall man and those are his key attributes.

Conte will make the most of what Sanchez has got.

Rumours injury isn’t as bad as made out by AG .

he could be back training again in a week . More a knock then a muscle issue apparently.

mixed reports , but latest ones suggest things may not be as bad as 1st reported .

Conte already made the most of him in the vital run in. Played 3 games, 3 wins and 3 clean sheets.
