Deserves a bump today. Played his part in the run in, stepping in when required and closing out the season without a drop in quality at the back .

He's been good most of the season when Dier plays in the middle and him on the right.

Will be really interested to see what happens with him this Summer. I'd be happy to keep him but if we get a ~30mil offer, I think that would be hard to turn down.

Agreed. I think defensively Sanchez is perfect to play that RCB role. He's a really good defender when he can push up, be really aggressive, and play higher up the pitch. The issue with Dav is that his passing is poor. Romero and Davies are both expected to push into the attack and contribute through incisive passing and underlapping runs. That is where he struggles and it puts a lot more pressure on the midfielders and the other cbs to create. I seem to remember a few games (Soton maybe?) where it seemed like the opponents worked a targeted press to force the ball out to Dav/Emerson and we just kept coughing up possession.

That said, if we don't have big money offers I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him. I guess we'll see what Conte thinks of him (and similarly Tanganga).

Romero got injured and there was widespread panic but Sanchez stepped in cool as you like and three clean sheets later we finished fourth. Well played Big Dave!

Yeah him and Tanganga got pressed all game and we could barely get the ball out. Then they were at fault for the 2 goals Saints scored.

Aside from that game, he's largely been a very solid backup and we could do a lot worse than keeping him around to cover Romero and play in the cups.

Also just a lovely bloke and a top pro. Has certainly played his part in us getting top 4 but wouldn't ever want him as a first choice option again - that ship has sailed. As someone else said, probably best to sell if we get a decent offer for him.

Can imagine Conte would be fine to keep him but Davinson maybe wants to go somewhere where he is first choice. Can't see him getting past Romero, Dier or Davies and we heard multiple times that Conte is looking at another top class CB to add.

I can attest to this. While other players scurried indoors after the lap of appreciation at the Burnley match Davinson was at the South Stand in the rain with his partner and their young son, signing everything thrust at him, including my phone case. I was very happy to shake his hand and thank him for his contribution to our season.

Yep, keep him on the right side and he's fine. All praise to him, I said months ago Davies, Dier and Sanchez make a good back 3
As long as we buy Romero we're fine at CB. Sure another top quality CB would be nice, but not a priority for me.
Romero, Kulu, keeper, striker WB priorities for me, ATM.
I guess Rodon may go as much for his own sake as ours. Then I would like to see a CL eligible CB brought in, preferably one who can cover as either CM or WB

Happy to keep him, but if he wants to leave, he leaves with my appreciation and recognition for the part he played in our run in and qualification.

With the number of games we can potentially play next season and five subs, we need a strong second 11.

Due to Romero’s battling style he’ll likely pick up injuries and we need a ready made replacement to come in, which Davinson is.

I wouldn't object to keeping Dave on in the slightest. He's easily good enough to be a starter and seems happy to be on the bench until required and we already have him, it seems like a no-brainer.

He's had a cracking end to the season just like Emerson. My main hope would be that they would attract plenty of interest and go for good prices which would enable us to spend on 2 players who fit Conte's system better (and we really need a LCB). I'd personally keep Rodon for CB cover since I think he can play left, right or in the middle and Davies covers the left with Tanganga on the right. Bastoni and Spence coming in would work for me.

Ali Gold has said on Football London's Q&A that Monaco really like Davinson Sanchez and because of that it could mean Spurs could look at Benoit Badiashile as a LCB option

That'd be very good business for us. We'd need another CB that could cover Romero though. Bremer would be the dream there.

Yeah after further digging, Transfermarkt has both Sanchez and Benoit Badiashile right around the same current value, both with two years remaining on their deals. I'd imagine Sanchez possibly makes a bit more to Badiashile. But in terms of value, that's as equal as a swap that could be done.

I would hate to lose Sanchez as I actually thought last season he was very good for us, thinks he provides great cover on the right hand side. However, we all know LCBs are more rare and I could see a scenario where Badiashile is attainable through Sanchez going the other way, with us using our funds to find another CB that can cover right and possibly even centrally.

We keep making deals like this we're gonna end up making a profit this summer if anything.

An important factor in the situation for me personally too is that Colombia is not in the 2022 world cup while the likes of Davies, a few linked LCBs, Dier, Romero, and Rodon all have chances or are likely to go to the tournament.

Having a PL proven player like Sanchez available, healthy, and not overplayed will really come in handy throughout the year. Again, there are other options we can sign to replace his part of the squad that could be in the same boat but just a note I have around Sanchez's situation.
