I'm surprised there hasn't been an exclusive interview with him this last week.
With our lack of signings, him taking a fair amount of unfair comment for one of England's WC goals conceded, and him being linked with a move away, he must have lots of thoughts he needs to
share with the world.

It means either his agent has him tied up in the back of his car, or actually, when he really thinks hard about the consequences of a rambling uncensored interview, then he can control himself.
This is a very welcome development.

Danny is still on £50k and there does not to be a new contract offer in sight so I'm sure Wolves can give him a decent offer, further north too.

No doubt wolves can offer a big payday, that's what I said. They're a rich club now

And yes it's further north than London but it's not the North. It's still a ways away from his home, I don't think the Midlands is what he had in mind

I’d be delighted to see him stay as he’s a top class left back on his day. However, If this rumour is true I wish him all the best for the future, both on and off the pitch. Unless he joins the scum in which case he’s dead to me!

It’s been a while since we’ve had any real info on replacement defenders. I really can’t see us letting Rose or Toby go without definitely replacing them. If we’re signing at least 3, I hope it’s 3 plus replacements if either go.

On a separate note, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rose go to somewhere like Wolves. Mental health issues affect everyone differently and who’s to say he still wants the pressure of playing for a top team. There’s no shame if he no longer has the drive, interest or passion to play at the highest level / compete for his place for us or another team like Utd

As much as people panic about losing DR and TA, we did fine without either of them for the majority of last season. If we got a combined £100m for the pair of them, that'd be decent imo - especially if we were looking at players like Tierney and Sessegnon before long.

No one is giving us 100mil for them.

Thinking is that Alderweireld ends up around £65m (which, let's be honest, is not outside the realms of possibility), and it's also quite likely that Rose would exceed £30m in this market.
ITK has stated other teams value Toby around 40mil, which is completely understandable to me given his age and recent injury. Rose hardly playing the last 2 seasons is not going to get anywhere near a 40mil fee.

Wolves were supposedly willing to pay £25-30m for Rojo or Smalling. They can certainly pay more than that for one of the best LBs in the league/country. £40m is probably a bridge too far though.

I’d be disappointed if we couldn’t get 50 mil for Toby and around the 40mil mark for Rose.
Despite Toby not playing recently he’s still one of the best cb’s in the league and Rose is English which seems to add value plus when on form he’s also up there with the best in his position.
The money clubs are spending on bang average players are crazy at the moment so I don’t think these figures are unrealistic.

Seems odd we'd let Rose go amidst all this talk of HG quotas. Only way it makes sense is if we have a HG alternative lined up, but the only one I'd think of is Shaw, and I really don't see Utd doing us any favours. They obviously want Toby, but most of the talk has been about us going for Martial in return and Utd refusing to deal.
Only benefit to trading Rose for Shaw is if we feel Danny is on the decline and Shaw is over all his injuries, plus we're making money to use elsewhere.
Just selling Rose, then getting Shaw as part of any Toby deal, with Martial remaining off the table, I think we're getting played.
Now, Rose & Toby for Shaw & Martial, that could work.

He's in his 20's still, had a minor injury and only Poch politics kept him out for months.

I'm pretty sure if we sell him, it won't be as low as £40m.

Rose is a HG and England international, so comes with a premium.

A 28 year old LB with fitness issues coming off a rather mediocre season. I'd say 20 + addons would be the absolute best we could hope for if we wanted to sell.

Agree, contract situation or not you don't let a rival have one of if not the best CB in the league for 40 million.

People have let this Martial swap business go to their heads.

Rose has missed 37 Premier League games across 6 different spells on the sidelines over the past 2 seasons. We ain't getting a premium on the back of that.

If Spurs paid £40m with his injury record and age I'd seriously question why that money wasn't invested elsewhere

What's the value of CL? Must be around £30m on its own. It's worth risking £15m in fees and keeping him for a season, especially with the difference he'd make to a rival who might sneak CL ahead of us.
