Feels less a roller coaster to me and more a slow crawl into the train station.
It's like watching a film that lasts two weeks and is based on a real life incident. You know exactly how it's going to turnout but remain rooted to your seat "just in case". ;)

Bit of a shame the shine of potentially signing a quality new CB for 45 million quid is going to be taken away by all the Kane bullshit.

Might the fact that the signing of a second CB going a little quiet, have anything to do with potentially Laporte being involved in the Kane deal?

Cue; 'Optimistic' ratings.

If you don't live in hope, you live in jeopardy.

I think it is more that we will only sign another one if and when Sanchez has gone.

Doesn't this then allow Sanchez to go, without the need to replace him as his replacement is already sorted. Just a different order of doing things.

Then 100m to get in a striker and whatever Sanchez goes for?

I just can't figure out any reason he might want to join us, but hey, the best defender of Serie A last season is desperate to join us, so you never know (y)

Having listened to Ally Gold’s podcast it sounds like we are broke. Don’t think we would risk buying before we sell as it gives too much power to the buying team to negotiate down or we end up stuck with too many centre backs

It's like one of those movies that keeps going back to the beginning of the story

I imagine it's more to do with the budget. This transfer uses a big chunk of the budget so if we go for another CB after this it's probably going to be a cheaper option. If this one doesn't go through then the next option could be cheaper allowing a bit more for the 2nd CB.

I haven't seen this mentioned before but
Christian Romero was born in Cordoba and played for Belgrano de Cordoba early in his career in Argentina and so did ....
Osvaldo Ardiles.
That'll do for me.?

The idea was that Laporte would be part of the Kane deal, therefore being tagged on alongside a bucket-load of cash. The budget would remain unaffected aside from the 100m we would receive.

Fully appreciate that spending 45m on Romero would mean that a second CB would therefore be a cheaper deal.
