Ali Gold pointing out that technically we had no option, so unless he'd been signed already he was always 'leaving' today. In saying that though, the wording feels very final, suspect he's gone.

Not going to help Barca's financial problems having him back on the wage bill, their problem not ours, so we are going to need a left sided CB .

"Defender Clement joined us last summer from Barcelona and made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring once.

Forward Arnaut arrived in January from Villarreal CF and played 12 times for us, scoring twice."

Such an odd way to phrase this.

I reckon that Chairman Daniel is pleased that he no longer needs to pay their wages.

Wouldn't be overjoyed with this. Seems like we'd be pursuing just because we think we can get him cheaply..,.

Translate: Meeting next days Barça-Tot'ham by Lenglet. The squeeze; They know the need for FCB. Also the player, who does not want to lose out at level . At Barça they would consider everything that exceeds 10-12M as good. Clement and Spurs, happy with each other.

I paid no attention to him at Barca but from what I saw last season he isn't suited to a high line and it would be the sort of signing that got us into this issue in the first place in that he would want huge wages and be hard to move on.

I like his presence, but I honestly have no real grasp on his actual quality. He never really impressed, but he was probably our most consistent defender (the highs and lows of Romero were extreme). That makes me think he could probably raise his game one or two levels in a team with more harmony. For that reason, I wouldn't be against bringing him back cheaply.

That is why I struggle to see why AP would fancy him (even as a back-up), regardless of the costs.

Better than any other defender we currently have bar Romero and he is left footed so if we can get him for £10-12mil then do it.

He's not particularly fast and he seems to really lack agility when one on one / on the turn. So I don't see him suited to a high line.

He is decent with the ball at his feet though.

He’d be a disaster in a high line, and he wasn’t that much better in a low block. This just smacks of Levy eyeing up a bargain and foisting him upon whichever manager happens to be in charge and what system they play

Completely depends on wages and who else we shift for me.

If he is relatively cheap then and we shift Dier and Sanchez and potentially Japhet then I’d take him back.

He never pulled up any trees but was better than the rest.

His Barca contract is until 2026 and Barca are desperate to get him off the wage bill.

End of the day we need a left sided centre back, ideally we need two. I don’t imagine he’s our top target, or even our second option.

But as a fall back, I’m relaxed about this.
