I am a big fan of eriksen, saying that he has not progressed. He has looked one step away from world class for a few years now without making that step. He is not as good as modric or bale or hazard and to be frank the mo of rm is to sign world class galácticos or young promising future stars.

Eriksen is currently neither.

I honestly wouldn't sign him if I were calling the shots at rm. I don't think he is worth anything near 100m either with or without a long contract.

There is still time and eriksen is still a very good player but if he wants his dream move he needs to step up and soon.

Good honest post. I do think he is a excellent technical player and sometimes does things that are great. But I don't think he is a game changer who can pull a team with him. He is more of a quality cog in a wheel.
For 100m I'd expect more.

What more do you actually expect him to do?

He dictates play, gets a decent amount of goals and plenty of assists. There's probably not a more productive CAM out there apart from De Bruyne. But nah, not good enough.

Helping us win the CL would have been good
But the conditions weren't quite right for him

Oh come on. That is absolutely ridiculous and absurd. We have a squad of 25 players, it's not down to Eriksen alone to win us the Champions League. Let's ignore the fact that Dele and Kane were wank in the Final, and don't give me the 'but they were injured' reply. If it wasn't for Eriksen we wouldn't have got to the Final in the first place.

Are you honestly, seriously suggesting Eriksen hasn't stepped up because Tottenham Hotspur haven't won the Champions League?

When I think of Eriksen I can’t think of to many real memorable moments.

Which is sad because he’s a hell of a footballer , but he really was awful at times last season, that shot in the final just before half time so much time and in to the sky

People saying that winks is a more important player is up there with the dumbest shit that I've read on here, and that includes all of the absolute tripe that I've posted

Not at all but it's just another missing in inaction for one of the greats.
For Kane he just came back after a horrible injury and Dele is another matter (also coming back from injury but nobody talks of Dele as the best thing since sliced bread)

The left footed longshot v Brighton ended up being one of the differences between us finishing 4th or 5th behind the scum.

Eriksens pass to Dele for the volley a year or two ago was fantastic but in between how many times did he not get the ball past the first man on a corner. (I've heard the rationalizations)
Eriksen makes too many short passes sideways. He can do something great occasionally.
His stats are good mind you but they just quantify. I think he is a really excellent technical player but I question his confidence at times

I have a problem I had to suffer Blanchflower and John White combine to create for our double team and show how space and fluidity are created

Why do you resort to this 'but he doesn't get the ball past the first man on corners' argument? It's utterly insignificant compared to his contributions.

No it's not. You don't decide for me.
It's a point like everything else is.
Well yes, that's up to you. But I think it's ridiculous to have the belief that not getting the ball past the first man on every single corner is a reason to downgrade one's view of Eriksen, in spite of his obvious contributions such as dictating play, scoring goals and getting assists. And due to that fact it wouldn't surprise me if you keep mentioning it because almost all of your other arguments can or have been factually disproved.

I don't believe all this he was sht last season, doesn't affect matches especially the big uns, stuff.

Yeah, his corners pss me off and he could get stuck in a bit more but I still love him. Having said that I don't think he'd survive long at Madrid. Yes it's a pinnacle but why would anyone want to play for their fans who epitomise everything that's wrong with modern football I'll never know...

He dictates play because we don't have any other creative players. He rarely turns a game.
He has the same M. O. short passes that give us more possession but lose time on finding the angles quicker. He is a safe player. He scores some good goals almost instinctual there. Maybe worth money to a team that has a lot of quality so he can be a cog in a wheel of a team. Can't see him as a 6 as Modric is. Not sure he has the confidence level if a Modric
Corners are frustrating are you not bothered by them? Corners are something that's easy to see... Creativity is a bit more difficult to assess I mean I only see him open up a defence occasionally... rarely. That's creativity to me

Seems like Madrid have moved on from Pogba to Eriksen now. Their mouthpieces are doing the job on him now. So once thats completed, we’ll sign Lo Celso to replace him and that’ll be our window done(assuming the Sessegnon brothers are completed by then).

Getting the same impression myself. All seems pretty plausible. Agent using the contract situation as leverage so you'd imagine Levy will be keen to sort out a deal. Sooner the better from our perspective. Circa £50m and Dani Ceballos sounds good to me.

Whether the RM move is right for Eriksen is a different story, I don't think it's a good one at all. Zidane not a massive fan and I doubt the fickle Madrid fans and media will take to him either. Coutinho mark II.
