He can sign a contract with Real Madrid in 6 months and go for free, and get huge signing fee. He’s not worth 80 million with less than 12 months on his contact

The only thing in our favor is that Real want to win now. I doubt anyone wants another campaign like they just had. If he is in their plans, money isn't an object.

He can point as much as he likes. I don't see Madrid being that desperate to get him this summer. They can get Hazard now and have Eriksen for nothing in 12 months.

The player hasn't said that though. So I stand by the assertion that he hasn't weakened Levy's hand. He certainly wouldn't be using the price paid for Kroos as a barometer either.

If Hazard is worth £100m with a year left, Levy is not going to accept much less, especially where the player has indicated he'd stay if no serious offer materialises.

Sanchez to Man U was effectively £30m with 6 months left on his contract. He nearly went to City for £60m 6 months earlier.

Hazard is being talked about for £100m and is in the same contract position as Eriksen.

Coutinho, whose contract was not expiring, went to Barcelona for a reported £105m which could rise to £142m.

Within that context £60-65m doesn't look excessive. It might even be considered something of a bargain in fact for a proven talent.

Then he can sign for another club in 6 months. Madrid and everyone else know it. I'd be surprised if we get 50m+ for him.

If I remember correctly, he was quoted some time ago as saying that if her were to leave us then he would only want to go to a top club in Spain. Now, there was speculation as to whether it was Barca or RM, but if that remains the case, he could easily still be with us next season. If he is, he will need to get his head screwed on properly and step up or he won't be playing as many games!

Still one of the biggest clubs in the world...
Who are currently in transition, playing in the Europa League next season and are absolutely nowhere near challenging for the league.

Eriksen said he's ready for something new. He's already had the experience United can provide in his few years at Spurs.

I think in the current climate with a year left on his contract £65-70 million would be about right. Annoying as we probably would have got well north of £100 million last summer and he's hardly set the world on fire this season.

If I've learned anything from reading these transfer forums over the past few years it's that 'kicking up a fuss' immediately detracts 25% from a player's market value.

Keep up, Trix.
Ahhh I get it now mate #fantasyfootball.

Or he could sign a new deal like he literally said today. Depends how much faith Levy has in that.

£20 to SC says if he goes in a straight cash deal it's over £50m. The market says as much. I think it probably ends up beginning in the £70-75m region.

We made 61 million for going out v Juve last year and 90 ish this year in champions league. we also made 140 million from finishing in the top 4, with him in our team again this year we probably guarantee ourselves that 61 million payment for this year and qualify for champions league for next year. This also means that 2 teams behind us don't get that money, if you were Levy would you take less than 80 on that basis? It also lets us settle in 2 new players in midfield before he goes.

Focused Eriksen is irreplaceable but his mind hasn't been here for quite some time, best for both parties for him to leave.

Well, if he does eventually sign a new Long term contract with us, his mind might be refocused back as he would then know that his prime years would be at this club.

Would Eriksen see that as a step up though?

Doubt he'd go unless Levy/Poch pushed him there.

Possibly, they certainly have the bigger global name, trophy cabinet and let's be honest, wages.

Maybe if Yanited is the only option he will choose to stay but I suspect if they lose Pogba they'll be throwing a lot of money around to get a new playmaker
