So sad watching him ambling around the pitch and generally fucking things up but genuinely cant think of who else we could play as it seems that Lamela is perma crocked.

That’s a separate argument. The fact is he’s playing terribly and has been for months. Our lack of other options is on Levy and/or Poch, so yeah I understand why he’s picked, but it doesn’t give him a free pass to be abysmal for months on end.

agree but whats the alternative until we sell him and buy someone else.
in an ideal world any player not giving 100% would be dropped but he hasn't got a replacement today.
Poch maybe needs to get ruthless to push the squad just that bit more, but then would he still have the same affection with the stars?

Said it before and will say it again. He’s already out the door, doesn’t want to be here and the odd moment of quality does not absolve him from his form the last few months or more. Oh I forgot Dele slide tackled Milner once in the first half and then Sissoko made a really long run and couldn't put a fucking ball on target so they get passes. Yet Eriksen puts multiple players in behind the defense, assists our only goal and gets completely shit on. Unbelievable.

Yeah it’s ridicoulous. Eriksen has had some bad games, but he wasn’t bad against Liverpool. He was one of the few who actually created anything and got a really good assist. He was definitely not the reason we lost today. People are doing the same thing they did to Walker when he was about to leave us.

The great minds here would play 11 Sissokos and then wonder why we wouldn’t score a single goal.

hasnt he been playing deeper next to sissoko most the season, so its expected he will have fewer goal contributions than previous seasons when he had dier and dembele behind him? Not to mention all the changes in formations where Dele is deeper so unable to make as much space for him in key areas.

He is a great player but the inconsistency and passiveness send me round the bend. I don't think we have options right now and Poch has to play him. Plus Poch is beholden to the special few and they are un-droppable.

He is still capable of pulling off a superb assist here and there but the mind has switched off this season. I don't know if it is because he is in through the out door or its being a new dad or he is having a WC hangover.

I think the continuous conjecture around the 'is he, isn't he' signing a contract is affecting other players as well. Toby has just cracked on and got on with the job. He might be a **** if you believe the stories but he has been professional. Eriksen looks like his heart isn't in it and he cant be arsed. I don't know, but he isn't firing on all cylinders.

I don't think he looks a Madrid player. And 130m quid is a laugh. Zidane is really quite brutal with players and while he has had big egos to manage he has kept them in check. I think he looks at Erisken and goes - I don't think this guy has that winning streak. I want warriors not someone the Monday morning quarter backs are going to be having a melt down over after the weekend.

Dele was terrible too and has been all season. This is the Eriksen thread though.

His assist was absolutely expected from a player of his ability and level. A cynic may even suggest he nearly fucked that assist up too but it’s his all around game which is abysmal.

If you can’t separate and analyse his all round game from his rare moments of good stuff that’s on you, don’t blame the rest of us.

I know what I’m seeing and have been for months, the guy is playing like shit. This isn’t a witch hunt, there’s no vendetta, the guy is playing gash.

Yesterday yet again he was incapable of playing simple passes, dwelling too long on the ball. I could very easily go back through yesterday’s match and pick out moments where he over hit simple passes and chips to give the ball away, dwelled on the ball too long and got dispossessed, for a player of his ability he is playing so shit.

From a key player the least you expect is not to break down attacks or lose possession when you get the ball, but that’s what he does time and again.

Then he does a rare moment of magic and everyone goes, look told you so, he’s amazing, you’re all talking shit.

Real Madrid, having a laugh. He’ll get slaughtered there playing like he has this season. Just because he scores a few nice goals from outside the box every now and again.

Maybe it's par on the stats listed but his performances say otherwise. He got an assist yesterday (was a mishit) and it will be used as evidence of a good performance but he's not playing well and hasn't done for awhile. I'm sure someone will point to some running stat to say otherwise

I wont blame Eriksen for cashing in but I suspect he'd spend a lot of time on the bench at Real or Barca. As good as he is I dont seem him in that top top class.
