I'd be tempted to loan him back to Blackburn assuming they wanted that. If he's already played in the Championship he's not going to learn much playing PL2 games, and with no European games I don't see him getting much game time here next season assuming we bring in 1 or 2 senior CBs.
Big assumption 🤣

Seriously though this guy is really highly rated and seems to have everything needed to be a top CB. It’d be an exciting signing for the future

Lets see how Ange rates his ability to play first team this year.

Tanganga was still raw when he got starts for us and weve seen before how loaned players dont get used enough.

Unless of course Blackburn are banking on him this season

Love these signings but they have to be playing / loaned
I don’t get buying a portfolio of players to either train or loan out.

I wonder how Spence feels after joining Tottenham and getting next to zero game time.

wouldn't it be better to buy less players but spend more and get the absolute best that will come in the hope of getting better performances for the first team

Speaking in November 2021, then first team manager Tony Mowbray described Phillips as "phenomenal" and as well as being 6 ft 4' tall he commented on his ball playing ability, stating: "He's fast, mobile and can pass it really well. He can use both feet, he's composed..if you were to create a defender in the mould of how you would want one, this kid has got every attribute."

Sounds like they are in a bit of a mess. I'm sure we can find a better loan for him.

Interesting to see what Blackburn fans think of Phillips, they feel he struggled a lot as he was still growing and couldnt finish games. Rather than play for the first team this season some fans wanted to loan him out elsewhere but they still all thought he was a top prospect. None of them have yet to react to the potential transfer.

I imagine the championship is brutal for an 18 year old centre back.

Really?

You need to be aware about where we are in the food chain. Anyone that can really improve us will also be wanted by the oil money and state run clubs. Anyone already at that level will also be of interest to the European giants.

We have to find value and potential and hope that a few of them click and we become a great team. Going on loan certainly helped Kane and is now an established route to first team football.

Frankly I don't care how Spence feels. He needs to work hard and take his opportunity when it comes just like any other professional player. Aaron Lennon probably felt similar when he came, but one injury to Wayne Routeledge and he was ready, never looking back.

Seems like a great pickup. We need to be doing more of this. Think we need to prove there is a genuine pathway though, need to use Devine correctly. He is the real deal and we have to get it right with him.

Mates a Blackburn fan (his dad supports Spurs funny enough) says this kid has a huge future. He broke into their first team at 16 in the Championship.
