Crouch might be the only one id even half consider keeping

At least you know exactly what you're getting. And, as an impact sub, both offensively and defensively, I feel he could do a job.

You obviously don't remember him also getting sent off against Madrid to help put us out of the competition and his own goal against City that ended any chance we had of qualifying this season.

Because otherwise we would've beaten Real Madrid.

Sorry, that's possibly my favourite post of the year.

Hahahahaha.

Thank you, stemark. You've made my day.

How about you try constructing an argument for your view?

Stemark's examples are as irrelevant as your own.

Which I think you'll find was his point

I don't think i've ever seen Crouchy come on and make an impact sub of himself.

I think along with Defoe and Keane he has had his time and is very much at the end of his top flight career (Defoe probbly has another season or two left but is heading in the same direction).

Quite frankly for a team with Top 4 and beyond aspirations we need players far better and hungrier than Crouch, or any of our current strikers for that matter.

Looks like Crouchy is on his way to Burnley - watch the papers tomorrow; "Crouch questioned over loss of a man's arm, when offered the opportunity to not live in Stoke anymore"

Having listened to the podcast, I like Crouchy even more nowadays.

Seems like a genuinely nice chap, plus that goal vs Man City, I dont think i'd ever come that close to passing out while celebrating a goal...

Hopefully he goes to Burnley and we can see him for a final flourish in the PL. He loves a goal against City, thats for sure...

Pleased to see crouch back in the PL. Luckily for us we go to Burnley soon. It'll be nice seeing the stick insect for another game. I wouldnt begrudge him if he scored against us either.

Stoke's a shithole but I'd rather live there than Burnley fucking hell. Burnley's at the end of the earth in the middle of nowhere and is just one of those typical old industrial towns where the industry has died off so it's just depressing. On the other hand, Stoke may be a bit shit but it's got a direct train line to Manchester in 20 mins and London Euston in an hour and a quarter so you're not just stuck there like you would be in fucking arse-end-of-nowhere Burnley.

Besides, Stoke is just up the road from the "Golden Triangle" in Cheshire (Prestbury, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow) where all these celebrity types and footballers live so I'm sure he's been living there rather than actually in Stoke itself.

Peter Crouch @petercrouch

After a lot of deliberation this summer I have decided to retire from football ! Our wonderful game has given me everything. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped me get there and to help me stay there for so long. X

He'll have a career in broadcasting before too long I think. His podcast is excellent.

Good luck to him, and thanks forever for the moments at the Etihad and San Siro.

He should do a documentary where he follows some players round for two weeks at a time during the season, to get a look inside their work and personal life. Think he would have some decent connections and the ability to get the players talking openly. I'm trying to think of a punny name but nothing is coming to mind.

Makes you wonder where our club would be had he not scored that goal at the Etihad in 2010.
That was the catalyst for everything that has followed.
