Hmm - is it too much to infer that some at the club haven't been impressed with Mitchell..?

We also aren't buying anyone right now. So it works out ok for now.Sounds like we have no-one heading things up though

The manager has the final say in who comes in, so in that sense he is heading things up. We have plenty of scouts watching plenty of players all the time, nothing at all has changed, except how the data is being crunched.
Modric is injured and may be out for a while. I suspect Isco will be staying at RM this season. We were after a pacey wide player, Poch said as much which is why we brought in Sissoko, Isco was always going to be a pipe dream. If there were players available pretty sure we would have made a move for them also after the Bale money debacle it was mentioned that we were looking for more players who have played in England as they have that home grown experience as opposed to players abroad.
Don't think it's weird at all. Bayern's recruitment has been top notch in recent years. And offering London, the PL and a new challenge is a carrot worth dangling even if he's at a top club.Such a weird link it's probably true!

Interesting story from Germany
Spurs want Michael Reschke Bayern Munich's technical director [recruitment genius]
BILD say: No chance.

Interesting that Hitchen is seen as a French football expert. That's definitely the most ripe market with talent for a club with our budget. The Sun are claiming Steve Hitchen is to make a return to Spurs to head up our recruitment.

We haven't had too much success in recent times scouting French league players.. Stambouli, N'Jie, and Capoue were no world beaters. KGN is still an unknown quantity, Lloris was already French number one and captain so limited risk..Interesting that Hitchen is seen as a French football expert. But shouldn't the head of recruitment, if we were to get one, have some say on who becomes cheif scout? I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a head of recruitment this time round as it hasn't worked out that well in the past.Lyall Thomas from Sky Sports is saying Hitchen is coming in as chief scout not head of recruitment as The Sun claim.
That would make him Rob Mackenzie's replacement and not Paul Mitchell's.
We might have already identified our head of recruitment who's okaed Hitchen. The new head could be working out his current contract to leave in the summer like Mitchell. But shouldn't the head of recruitment, if we were to get one, have some say on who becomes cheif scout? We haven't that is true - but if you look at the quality of players their academies produce with regularity, the relative financial paucity of most teams and the fact that the physicalWe haven't had too much success in recent times scouting French league players..
